New York, 20 September 2017 - Mr. Achim Steiner attends UNGA high-level side event "The EU External Investment Plan (EIP) - Mobilizing EUR 44 billion for the Global Goals". The European Commission jointly with the UNDP will be organising a side event on the European External Investment Plan (EIP) and its role in reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The EIP and its European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD) provide a coherent approach to address development challenges, with the main objective of leveraging additional private investments, improving business environments and creating decent jobs.
