it’s six AM and an hooded vulture (necrosyrtes monachus) glides in the morning breeze on the shores
of lake Kariba.
this place although it is a huge artificial lake is one of the most beautiful place I have ever visited.
maybe because i spent three days of boat safari with mr Steve Edwards a former warden of matusadona national park.
Steve has an incredible story and he is a very charismatic person and could stay days to tell adventures that we can just see in the movies.but...are true..
it was for me a great honor to spend a few unforgettable days with him.

That is how the tourism department of Himachal advertises this state and I think the words are very apt.:-)
It was a lovely cold and clear day today and we went for a drive to Narkanda,some 70 kms from here.There has been fresh snowfall on the peaks and they were sparkling white today.This is a view of the peaks from Fagu some 20 kms from Shimla.The building with the red roof is the Hotel Apple Blossom of the Himachal tourism department.
Had an incredible magic moment when a Red-throated Loon swam up to me while I lay on a dock. It's never happened before to me. Even in Nome I never got this close to this species. Wonder if it was the perfume I was wearing? ;).
I don't know many flowers with such a powerful name. When it comes to that, the forget-me-nots must have outstriped the roses as the flower of the loving for some time already. But maybe they are just to tiny and don't like the big show. I'm fascinated of them anyway, with their blossoms like made of marzipan and I will never forget to shoot them at least once every year.
Ich kenne nur wenige Blumen, mit so einem kraftvollen Namen. Wenn es danach ginge, müsste das Vergißmeinnicht der Rose schon lange den Rang der Blume der Verliebten abgelaufen haben. Doch vielleicht sind sie einfach zu klein und stehen nicht so auf die große Show. Ich finde sie trotzdem faszinierend, mit ihren Blüten wie aus Marzipan und werde es nie vergessen, sie in jedem Jahr mindestens einmal zu fotografieren.

Sempre in "quel treno" in quella bellissima terra che é il Madagascar.
Questo é lo stesso bimbo dell'altra foto. Un incontro indimenticabile.
Tra me e lui un vetro che ci separava e che divideva lo scompartimento dove era seduto lui con la nonna e due fratelli dallo spazio che é visibile nell'ultima foto con lo sportello aperto. Ho cercato di fotografare questo dolcissimo viso tra due riflessi a sinistra e destra che hanno lasciato un alone.
Poca luce... il movimento del treno, ma i colori sono quelli originali.
E anche l'atmosfera. Almeno credo e spero che arrivi anche a voi :)
Abbiamo fatto amicizia. La nonna era una insegnante in pensione vestita con sobria eleganza: collana di perle, tailleur e cappellino.
Ci siamo scambiate gli indirizzi e loro hanno ricevuto le foto :)

An unforgettable sunrise on Ramshaw Rocks in the Peak District.
The golden dawn light had to be seen to be believed and the alarm call at stupid o clock was quickly forgotten. It's mornings like these that give you inspiration to get out of bed and get out there. I didn't see anyone until about 5 minutes after this shot was taken when another photographer appeared up on the summit rocks.

Rototom Sunsplash cancels its 2021 edition and invites its public to an “unforgettable and massive” festival next summer.
The current sanitary measures would limit the festival’s program to holding concerts with social distancing “and although we understand that they are necessary, they are incompatible with the essence and atmosphere of Rototom Sunsplash”.
