if I do say so myself. But it's mostly the power of the yarn, and I didn't make that, so I'm not being too immodest.
Pattern: Lovikka Mittens from Knitting Traditions

The photos really don't do it justice
Cream merino and bubblegum pink merino plied with.....
1 strand of color change thread (turns white to magenta in SUN) very subtle though
1 strand of glow-in the dark thread
1 strand of white shimmery thread (for strength)
1 strand of irridescent white thread.
All along the cream merino there are color change beads threaded on the threads.
Some of the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy
Most of the damage in this area was caused by trees falling on cars and houses.
Here, one very large tree took down part of another tree, crushing two cars (the second car is almost buried under all the branches and was impaled by a large limb). The sidewalk here also sustained a lot of damage.
Just prior to taking this series of pictures, there was a Parks Department employee here cataloging the damage and prioritizing which trees were to be dealt with first.
It's now almost one week later after Hurricane Sandy (that I'm posting these pictures) and the trees that fell in this neighborhood are still lying on cars, houses, and across roads. The city hasn't started clean-up here.
To call our hotel on Khyargas Lake, Mongolia, rustic is to give it too much credit! I’m not sure what the outdoor ‘pool’ is about; there are no toilets or running water inside.
