Last Friday morning i ventured up the Pohangina to walk one of the Local walks, aware it was less than an hours walk, and given the GoPro's 30x hyper-lapse would equate to < 2 minutes video, I kept my eyes out for images along the way. The first Panorama at the Ashhurst Domain was quite dull with great cloud, Passing through Ashhurst I noticed the cloud clearing and remembered a spot i had created a pano at a number of years ago, Ulysses Road, The resulting image is above and the link to the Video is Below

artist statement: 'Ulysses' Shipwreck' represents a journey towards self-discovery inspired by Homer's Odyssey and the portrayal of Ulysses as a traveller don the path toward enlightenment. The ocean evokes our innermost self, which is deep and dark in the sense that we rarely visit there, while the shipwreck is symbolic of the moments in life when we feel hopeless and lost. However, it is precisely these times that allow us to discover our truer self and sense of purpose, if we have the couragedd and conviction of Ulysses to take the path less travelled.
Ulysses, also known as Uly, visited the farm on a walk today. I snapped some photos while his stepsister enjoyed patting the goats. He earned his fancy treats!

Still trying to get the hang of my drone, a bit strong wind wise for this shot but at least i now know what i can get away with....
The Ulysse building brings a strong personality to the Chauderon crossroads. It is the result of a competition won in 1987 by the architect Aurelio Galfetti (born 1936), who together with Mario Botta is one of the leading exponents of the “Ticino School”. It includes shops, offices and residential accommodation.
Eight storeys high and positioned on a platform, it is composed of a massive, hollowed-out cylinder which opens onto the square and is set in a prismatic volume which contributes to its integration in the grid pattern of the streets to the west and north. The facades are pierced at regular intervals by a grid of square windows. The facades are covered by clear grey panels, with cubes of dark grey granite set in them. These cubes stand out from the surface of the cylindrical volume.
The use of plastic effects linked to basic geometric volumes is typical of the Ticino School. Here it provokes a strong contrast with an environment built in the styles of the early 20th century and even with the 1970s administrative buildings whose soft lines occupy the opposite side of Place Chauderon. Thus the Ulysse Building constitutes a strong architectural sign which marks the geographical frontier of Lausanne's economic and commercial centre.

Memories of seaside holidays (from the archives, painfully aware that this summer I'm most probably skipping the pilgrimage to the sea)...
Here, after sunset, the 'blue hour' appears rather green(ish) instead. And the interesting natural sculpture (rock formation) is, according to some, a cat or a woman figure, according to others. I think I saw Penelope staring at the horizon, waiting for her Ulysses...
