Here's the inverted version of the Schaefer Effect. You just never know what is hiding behind some of these equations until you just try it out.

This fractal was created using a program called ultrafractal.

For this image series, the original size images are 16,000 X 12,000px. These were rendered with an iteration limit of 100,000 iterations to ensure that every single detail was correctly rendered.

Due to the huge file sizes, this series of fractal images was very tedious to work on.

A series of colourful psychadelic 3-d photographic experiments exploring the external depth of the canvas as an alternative to the defacto aesthetic of the flat print. All images were created via a combination of free and commercial software [Ultrafractal, Fractint, Visions of Chaos etc]. To be used in Conjunction with "Chromadepth" 3-d glasses which produce a stereoscopic effect based upon differences in the diffraction of color through a special prism-like holographic film fitted into glasses. Chromadepth glasses give the illusion of colors taking up different positions in space, with red being in front, and blue being in back].

Yes it is made from an image of a crown in Ultra Fractal..although you wouldn't guess now..

which crown ? Remember the celebration earlier this year...

This one was inspired by an old work colleague who used to love zooming into a fractal. One day at work we were "playing" with Ultrafractal when we found an interesting piece of what seemed like nothing... untill a few layers later the "nothing" was revealed. This looks great as a poster. It took only 4 weeks to render ;o)

Probably my most favorite fractal ever.

Of course, Orbit Traps give you just about the most lovely and useful palette of effect you could hope for. This is more playing with layers. I'm using UltraFractal, by the way. Maybe later on we'll have some Apophysis.
