Please look at the large version. This is an amazing structure.
This image has 2 layers - the olive gold 'lattice' and the white 'lace screen'. The center of symmetry is on the right hand side of the image.
The lattice has 2-fold symmetry (ie you could place 2 mirrors on the x and y axes and get the same image). The lace screen has 4 fold symmetry (ie it has 4 identical 'arms' and has 2 additional mirror planes which are rotated a quarter turn from the horizontal/vertical planes)
CHROMOSTEREOPSIS is a visual effect whereby 2 dimensional images can appear 3 dimensional to some extent. The effect is most noticeable when red & blue components are near to each other.
This image should be easier to compare to the red/yellow/blue version. I have flipped the image to have the same orientation. I also simplified the method used to "paint" the fractal surface with a color gradient.

this is a picture i've made with UltraFractal. It was inspirated from a very famous artist Vasarely that use to make this of geometrical things.
Is this picture was printed, i'll imagine then it a wall close to the entrance of an house...
Another image made using the formula Snazzy J in Jml.Ufm I made a layer just using the fractal with no image otherwise imported first and adjuted the colours to what I wanted then I made a new layer (once you have selected Snazzy J,) then open the outside settings for the image you wish to create ,go find the Plugin colouring direct in Standard ucl ,so that you can go and get the Image Trap in Common ulb .Do not be put off by the image looking dark in front of you when you play with the opacity settings available as below you will get the colourful image you desire.
Make the images in the fractal more opaque at the Trap Merge opacity box change it from 0.2 to0.12- ect 01.2 on inside and out side colouring .
Choose the Solid colour and reduce the opacity of the solid colour on the inside and the outside settings.
Choose Colour and reduce the opacity on the outside settings ,Base colour box as required..
I rotated the background layer to get the texture in the ribbons and the design I liked the look of here and made finale adjustments in opacity etc to get the effect I liked..
Watermarked with Digimarc as always !. www.digimarc.com/home
So who would like a Duvet with this on ? or something else as that's what I do with my designs.
www.cafepress.co.uk/+red_ribbon_spirals_shoulder_bag,1207... I am getting this and excited to see it ..
I really like this one. It comes from a series all generated by the same equation but from different parts & zoom levels. That equation gave up some beautiful pictures.

Previous Fractal image without the edit to chrome to show as it was after originally making it in Ultra Fractal.
This is what I read to be able to turn images into part of the fractal image
Combining fractals with images
Tip: This example assumes that you are familiar with formulas that use plug-ins, as explained in the Plug-ins chapter.
As explained in Using images, you can do more with image import in Ultra Fractal than just adding images as a separate layer. Let's try a different way of importing images.
Again, use the browser to open the Default parameter set in Examples.upr.
This time, we're going to use a Julia fractal. Click the Browse button in the Formula tab of the Layer Properties tool window to select Julia in Standard.ufm.
To make the fractal more interesting, locate the Julia seed parameter and enter -0.6 for the (Re) part, and 0.7 for the (Im) part. (Tip: Normally you would use Switch mode to find values such as these.)
On the Location tab of the Layer Properties tool window, click the Reset Location button to reset the location to the default for the currently loaded Julia formula.
Go to the Outside tab in the Layer Properties tool window, and click the Browse button here to select Plug-In Coloring (Direct) in Standard.ucl.
The Plug-In Coloring (Direct) coloring algorithm contains the Direct Orbit Traps plug-in by default, which is perfect for our purpose.
Locate the Color Trap plug-in parameter (currently set to Trap Shape Wrapper) and click the Browse button next to it. Navigate to the common.ulb file in the Public folder and select the Image Trap plug-in.
Observe that the Image Trap plug-in contains an image parameter, which is currently empty. Click the Open button next to it, and select ( the image you want to use out of your files on your computer or) the Ultra Fractal.png image that comes with Ultra Fractal.
The fractal now fills itself with the image you have chosen or the Ultra Fractal text from this image, but the image is rotated and transformed according to the structure of the fractal! Try zooming in to see that the text is repeated infinitely. It's a true fractal, but using texture from an image that you choose. This works very well if the image contains transparent areas, which is possible with the PNG image format.
This is just a simple example, but the parameters for the Direct Orbit Traps algorithm let you take this much further, so feel free to experiment. Also, in the public formula library, you will find more coloring algorithms that let you use images to color the fractal structure.
Notes
Ultra Fractal imports JPEG, PNG, and BMP images. Only 24-bit or 32-bit BMP images are supported. Interlaced PNG files are not supported. The alpha channel from PNG files or 32-bit BMP files will be treated as transparency information for the image.
When selecting an image, by default Ultra Fractal starts in the Images folder inside the main Ultra Fractal documents folder. It is recommended to keep the images that you use with your fractals here. You can change the location of the Images folder in the Folders tab of the Options dialog.
When saving fractals or parameter sets, Ultra Fractal stores only a reference to the image used. When you re-open the fractal or parameter set, the Images folder is automatically searched for the image that is needed. Only if the image cannot be found, Ultra Fractal will ask you to locate the image.
You can write your own formulas that use imported images. See Image parameters.
