"Vielleicht mache ich ein Cover von All Along the Watchtower." sagt Shashaa. "Der Song ist echt der Hammer. Und je öfter ich ihn anhöre – und er lief ja hier die letzte Zeit in Endlosschleife – desto mehr packt mich der Text. The Joker and the thief – genau das ist es!
In dem Song geht es um zwei Typen, die sind genau wie mein Vater und dieser Ali. Ich mein, die haben harte Zeiten durchgemacht, wer hat das nicht? Sie hatten Träume, Buufis, und sie haben es in ihr Land der Träume, in die USA geschafft.
Dieser Ali musste sogar nicht mal etwas dafür tun! Der wurde ausgelost im Dadaab Camp, man kann also sagen, der hat sein Visum im Lotto gewonnen. Aber die USA sind eben nicht Jannah, das Paradies, nein, da muss man auch arbeiten für sein Geld.
Im Song reden die mit den Leuten, ja, das Leben ist hart, das wissen wir. Aber nicht für uns, damit sind wir fertig. Und dann werden sie zu apokalyptischen Reitern, weil sie was besseres sein wollen als die anderen Leute.
Ich mein, ich bin ja auch anders als die anderen Leute, es ist nun wirklich nicht jeder ein Superstar. Aber ich kann was, ich kann singen. Ich gebe den Menschen was.
Aber solche Typen, die können gar nix. Ja, mei, dann muss man halt im Lager arbeiten oder Uber-Fahrer werden oder Pizza Service. Whatever.
Dieser Ali hatte in Dadaab eine Frau und zwei kleine Kinder, die er versprach nachzuholen. Nee, was macht der? Er wird Gangster. Kommt sich vor wie Al Capone, aber ist nix wie eine miese kleine Ratte, ein kleiner Drogendealer, ein Krimineller. Frau und Kinder hat er sitzen lassen, total vergessen.
Und meinem Vater hat er das Gehirn gewaschen. Es reicht ja nicht, dass er ihn süchtig gemacht hat. Die belügen sich selbst!
Unsere Familie war ja schon da, als dieser Ali aufkreuzte. Mein Vater würde auch niemals meine Mutter verlassen, sie kocht und wäscht für ihn, das ist zu bequem.
So sind auch der Joker und der Dieb in dem Song, stellvertretend für all diese Scheiß-Männer, die ihr Leben nicht auf die Reihe kriegen. Du fragst dich, wie man so pervers sein kann, in den Krieg zu ziehen und Leute abzuschlachten? Was in deren Köpfen vorgeht? Und warum die immer mehr werden? Es sind genau solche! Egal ob IDF, Blackwater oder Escobar.
Der Text ist ja von Bob Dylan. Das ist ein alter Mann, den hab ich mal bei den Grammys gesehen. Die sagten, er hat auch den Nobelpreis bekommen. Also, dem seine Lyrics sind auch absolut genial. Aber ich hab mir seine Original-Version von All Along the Watchtower angehört. Bob Dylan singt nicht gut. Seine Stimme ist markant, aber nicht melodisch.
Was den Song zu diesem Highlight macht, zu einem der besten Songs ever, ist die Gitarre von Jimi Hendrix.
Haa, und da wird's schwierig mit Cover. Eigentlich sollte ich den Gitarrenpart singen, mit dem Text, nee, geht ja nicht… ich hab auch geguckt, es gibt erstaunlich wenig Cover davon. Eins ist nicht schlecht, eine Deephouse-Version, da ist aber Hendrix' Gitarre reingesampelt.

PETALING JAYA: Private car owners whose vehicles have been identified by the authorities for offering Uber services may not be able to renew the road tax in the end.
It is learned that Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has found a formula to nab private car owners or drivers offering the illegal taxi services via the mobile app Uber, without having to resort to undercover special operations.
"For example, after a certain private car has been identified from the digital log in the Uber app alongside solid evidence of video and photo of their operations, the authority will then send out a notice to the car owner to attend an 'interview' with the SPAD enforcement division," a government source told theSun.
To start off, like I reported last quarter, Uber’s troubles are not really having an impact on its bottom line.
Knowing that, despite that, they are still trying to do better actually puts them a cut above all the other sociopathic corporations.
So um.... good for them, I guess.
In the last quarter, Uber took in $8.7 billion - with a b - dollars last quarter. That’s a 17 percent increase over the previous quarter.

Our first actual item is about one of the enormous number of lawsuits against Uber.
That company just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.
This one is the one where Uber was being sued for using a program called "Hell" to monitor what their rival were doing.
Well, score one for Uber, because a judge with the decidedly non-hilarious name Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley dismissed the lawsuit.
Because honestly, monitoring what Lyft drivers are doing all day isn’t a crime. It’s a call for help.
