Es mag überraschend sein, aber die Lauter, nachdem der Grenzort Lauterburg benannt ist, ist nicht die Grenze zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich. Diese verläuft entlang der Alten Lauter. Deswegen befindet sich die Brücke der Bienwaldbahn über die Lauer (welche man auf dem Bild kaum sehen kann) komplett in Deutschland.
Every so often I wonder who owns what. Galaxy is a brand owned by Mars Snacking, a subsidiary of Mars Inc., a US company. I always thought, for some reason, that it originated in Germany or Switzerland. Galaxy bars are marketed as Dove chocolate in the US, Canada, Mexico and some European countries. Mars also own The Wrigley Company, who manufacture chewing gum and related products.

This corner seems to have become an unofficial spot to wait for an Uber pick-up. I assume it's the result of convience, and I wonder if other cities/area have similar spots.
Sunset from Camping am See in Winkl. The highway from Obertraun to Hallstatt wraps around the Hallstátter See, which made the ~20km ride a mesmorizing treat in our evening drive.

Here is a pinhole photo that I pulled out from my archives. I always thought that this extensive rainbow flaring was due to jagged edges of the pinhole, or maybe from using a thicker brass shim. I'm not sure, though.
I like the effect and can imagine how it can be used in some images to best advantage, but how to replicate this? Any suggestions?
I used my Pinholga (before my bamboozled modifications and pinhole switch) to photograph the above example.

Das Landgut Panker nördlich von Lütjenburg ist ein über Jahrhunderte gewachsenes Herrengut mit Schlosspark, Herrenhaus in Privatbesitz, Pferdegestüt, Hotel, Restaurant und mehreren Geschäften sowie einer Galerie.
Das Herrenhaus von Gut Panker wurde im 17. Jahrhundert errichtet und in den nachfolgenden Jahrhunderten zu einer barocken Dreiflügelanlage ausgebaut. Bis um 1980 wurde das Landgut zu großen Teilen landwirtschaftlich und zur Pferdezucht genutzt.
Die heutige Gutsgemeinschaft bewohnt das Dorf Panker in zum Teil originalen Gutsgebäuden aus dem 19. Jahrhundert und belebt das Gut mit den verschiedensten Angeboten aus Handwerkskunst, Design und Mode sowie Gastronomie. In den Sommermonaten finden häufig Events mit Pferde-Präsentationen, Waldführungen und klassischen Konzerten statt.
Ein über 200 Jahre altes Wirtshaus "Hotel und Restaurant Ole Liese" lädt zum Verweilen ein.
