The bulk carrier UBC Sacramento entering the port of Charleston, SC. The large vessel passed pretty close to the water taxi we were on. The Sacramento is flagged in Cyprus, was built in 2001, displaces 31,759 tons, is 171 meters long, 27 meters in beam, and has a service speed of 13 knots.

I wanted to take a picture in the forest around UBC for earth day. I will continue to improve on my forest photos. I want to have the camera closer to the ground next time and to shoot at dusk to avoid the haze.

This is the clock tower at UBC, which I decided to photograph since we were here at noon and because the clouds in the sky looked cool.
The clock tower is dedicated to brothers William Henry Ladner and Thomas Ellis Ladner who came from Cornwall, England to Victoria, BC in 1858. They traveled the Oregon Trail to California over the course of five months and then spent six years hunting for gold there. The town of Ladner, BC is named after them.

Took a walk as the sun was setting on Wreck Beach. It was pretty foggy and I'm happy I wandered there.
