An emergency column in the subway station "Westfriedhof" (Western Cemetery), located on the border between the districts of Moosach and Neuhausen-Nymphenburg.

Pretty popular photo location for obvious reasons...

The blue walls (remainders of the slurry wall that was used during construction) and the 11 huge lamps of 3.80 m diameter each give a very special atmosphere. Here's the "blue section" - the lamps do have yellow, red and blue lights, so each section has a slightly different atmosphere.

Westfriedhof, für mich eine der schönsten Münchner UBahnstationen und das liegt für mich vor allem an dem Beleuchtungskonzept von Ingo Maurer mit den riesigen nach unten geöffneten Lampenschirmen

We are reaching the penultimate station now.

You can see an interpretation of the very dynamic station "Am Hart" with this wonderful wavy lamp. Made for surfers, who are not afraid of very cold water :-)

the beautiful Georg-Brauchle-Ring U-Bahn station in Munich, Germany (it was supposed to be a photo of beautiful architecture but the sign pointing the direction towards the Olympia-Einkaufszentrum, where the recent shooting happened, now makes it a painful and frightening reminder of the tragedy... one that could have so easily struck me as well had I been passing through the area just a week later)
