Rip, rest, kill, eat

I built this Lord of Change from Warhammer on a commission; and for someone who had no exposure to Warhammer beforehand, I think I did alright with it!

Sarthorael the Ever-Watcher is one of the devious lieutenants of the Chaos God Tzeentch, and a real force to be reckoned with.

I faced several design challenges at the scale my client requested; and they were tremendously fun to overcome. Scroll through the other images here to find out more about this model!

Sarthorael packs tons of detail, from gold armor and jewelry to a flowing robe and huge, silvery wings. The model features a whopping 51 points of articulation.

The head design alone took me about an hour and a half of fiddling around. It's the only part of the build which uses "illegal" connection points.

A Lord of Change, also called a "Supreme Mutator," and one of the "Eyes of Tzeentch," is an insidious Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, the Chaos God of change and sorcery.

Lords of Change are creatures born from some impossible nightmare, immense bird-like Daemons with shimmering skin, wicked curved beaks and multi-coloured, spectrum-shattering wings.

Those who gaze upon these twisted prisms of pure magic begin to feel their sanity shred and reason slip away. Faced by a being of change incarnate, bedrock beliefs crumble and twist, and the mind seeks firm purchase in vain.

Treachery, deceit, capriciousness: these are the hallmarks of the Lords of Change. Tzeentch's greatest servants weave scheme upon scheme, a dense tangle of intermingling threads, so convoluted and eon-spanning that none can grasp their true purpose.

A confrontation with a Lord of Change is likely to occur when and where the creature wills it. Few have ever managed to get the drop on these servants of Tzeentch, for the Changer of Ways is the master of destiny itself, and his greatest servants possess a portion of that power.

The Imperial agri-world of Spatium is under attack by Chaos Space Marines from Black Legion led by Crimson Prophet, a mighty dark sorcerer! The remaining defenders from the 31st Tairan Regiment of Imperial Guard make a final stand near their command center, aided by Ynnari Aeldari who emerged from the Webway to fight their Great Enemy.

Almost finished just a small unit filler to go

Drew went for a bright colour scheme for this apparent follower of Tzeentch.

Twisted and psychotic Chaos Marines of the Black Legion are ready to bring death and ruin to countless Imperial and Xenos worlds, making Galaxy a playground of cruel Dark Gods. This particular Chaos force consists of Sorcerer, Chaos Space Marines, Cultists and Obliterator.

Daemon Prince of Tzeentch on his Fantasy Base

2021 was a hard thing for my LEGO models again. Adult life with all that work does not give much time to develop and build MOCs. Yet, I managed to make a large Warhammer 40,000 diorama and a smaller work which expands the lore of my Violet Verse (yes, the universe of Ernst and Isabella is called this way in English). I also turned my old 2014 photos into a Xenoarchaeologist comic book which is fully available on Flickr.

I wish you happy New Year and good luck in 2022!

Special thanks to BigStannis for raised baseplates!

The Crimson Prophet was once a rogue psyker and a charismatic leader of an anti-Imperial rebellion on his homeworld of Burton Primaris. For his success, he was chosen by Abaddon the Despoiler as a new champion of Black Legion and mutated by Tzeentch, Chaos God of magic and ambition. Now the Crimson Prophet is an infamous Black Legion Sorcerer who hovers above battlefields on a daemonic Disc of Tzeentch, destroying Imperial troops with evil warp energies from his force staff and hands.

CHAOS HAS WON. Space Marines of Black Legion have devastated the last remaining base of the 31st Tairan Regiment on planet Spatium. General Rufus Howlett and his Imperial Guardsmen made heroic sacrifices while the Ynnari led by the Farseer retreated to the Webway. Now the verdant agri-world is slowly descending into the warp, and the Crimson Prophet, the man who gave victory to the Dark Gods, departs on a new mission by the orders of Abaddon, determined to bring the Galaxy to strife and Chaos.
