A single shot of my flying Hive Tyrant armed with 2 converted twin linked Devourers with Brainleech worms
Finished my Lictor this morning after being away for a week's break. I bought the Venomthrope box while away but built the Zoanthrope variants which left me with three nice Tyranid heads. I wasn't at all happy with the cast on the Lictor's head- it was full of bubbles and quite scrappy looking so I was glad to be able to replace it.
The head is slightly different and is missing the mandibles but it is close enough and worth the sacrifice.
I have, since taken this picture, added some slobber to the tentacles.
Just as a note, I realise the Lictor has active camo but painting it in a camo state is beyond my meagre painting abilities and I don't believe he would be in camouflage mode all the time so I have painted him in tune with the rest of my Nids and for fluffy reasons if Tyranids think in the way we do he is taking five and has reverted to his fleets colour scheme.
I am really going to have to make an effort with the Gaunts- I bore easily and thus can't batch paint. I am thinking I'll maybe do three at a time in between other projects and that way they will be mounting up and not feel like such a chore.
I haven't worked out a list yet so I haven't got any Idea how many Termagants and Hormagaunts I am going to require. I think I have about 30 termagants and a box of Hormagaunts (12 maybe) so I am going to need a few more (groan) Actually I don't mind doing them if they aren't pre builts (which several are)
These are my old Plastic Warhammer 40k gaming figurines of the space Hulk type, a faction of their own when I was playing in the other century (not this century) but they later became a sub-faction to the Tyranid Hive-Fleet
I liked them more as their own thing, especially their Genestealer Cult army wich incorporated different other armies troops and you could have snazzy coven Limosines for the Matriarch and Magus to glide around the battlefield in...
Oh, Yeah this is a scan of an old film photograph from the 90´s

Café Frequenters episode 128
...................................................
Hello Uncle White!
What do you think of these character changes I have made to my manuscript, do feel free to read this new edited version to your house inhabitants and squatters over on that green Island.. or at the pub if that is where you happen to be... but pelase don´t read it aloud if they are watching a football game, I have heard that the Greenlanders can get violent if you steal their pot of gold or interrupt a sport-event...
Take Care my old friend and Crossbreed!
(here come the story:)
Then Cerni Goran came over to him, wobbling his arms around their common space-time like some kind of centipede on "bad speed" not hiding his happiness to see this undercover mug once more again...
He blazoned the air with his rumbling volcano-like neckless gurgling baritone voice:
- Djimmie, Where you been have, it is very long time you been missed-out here on my commodity!
Ajde! Nut only jou, also your glimmering Dinars, this place not been like it was without you and your perzenze hanging round here!
So me, Tell, Ajde, Ajde! where have jou beenz!
Saliva was flying around the Air when out of his excitement like from a big Boxer shaking his head with those kind of stingy slimy things accumulating around their mouthparts!
They hugged and slapped each others backs like it was some kind of strange back-slapping martial arts game...
Jimmy could´t help it but small watery beads of liquid formed under his eyes, it was as emotional as he could get...
His inner silver-screen played old movies of the past, mostly of drinks being pored, people laughing and staggering around in a random manner to Balkan Music of the tiny cramped space in the middle of all the tables...
Then when Crni Goran! finally landed his balkan-spacecraft on the immobile airfield ground, he stopped hugging but was still somewhat emotional, but the fountains of saliva and tears slowly got fewer and less acrobatic he said to Jimmy:
- Hey Djimmie! I bid first Bid, is a six of Whiskey fine? I have a specially brewed whiskey that father mine has been growing when he alive was!
Jimmy Nodded a silent yes!
Then he said: Hey Gorani are your repulsive but oh so attractive WC still at the same place as it always have been...
Gorani answered Yes off cause! At the same time as he focused one of his crosseyed eyes of poring whiskey...
Jimmy slammed the door open as he always used to do in the old golden days...
he sighed when he could smell the scent of perfumed block, urine and a hint of tobacco and snorted lines...
He had missed these heavenly scents, why had he been working so much lately? why hadn´t he popped by for ages here...
Jimmy could hear someone drunk crapping in one of the booths, he noticed two gentleman shoes attached to the owners from in one booth through the gap under the booth...
He looked at the mirror, it was still cracked all over and covered in different organic mucuses from the guests...
He Went to the Urinal unzipped and aimed at one of those white perfume blocks, he was so far away from any area controlled by the Demon now.... he could relax, he was among friends!

Hey Mr. White what did you think of the character change? please tell me what you think? is it a bit to raw for the average book reader? or was it to mild?

I am quite happy with Mr Licky here although I would have liked to have added some sort of markings on the armour plate maybe in a yellow or orange. I shall have to look into doing this in future.
I wish my Venomthrope had turned out as nice...I'll need to get some pics taken of him but he is a bit of a let down :(
modified Harpy. Basically I used the Harpy and a Trygon Kit for this work. I am pretty happy how good this one turns out at the end. Hope you like it.
The finished Warriors from my Armies on Parade board. Quite time-consuming to paint but lots of fun too. I like doing the heads.
I wanted the Adrenal Glands and poison sacks (out of picture) to stand out so I chose a bright pinky purple, I am not sold on it!

This has to be one of my most favourite models games workshop has
ever produced the egg sack is just so wonderfully alien and grotesque. Painted it hive fleet kraken
Anyone who is thinking about doing nids (in almost any scheme) and wants to add the striation marks on the carapace it looks a lot harder than it actually is and any mistakes can be easy fixed so just go and give it a go.
On the base I used some torn cork, gravel (fine) and a couple of pieces of sprue that I shaped with a hobby knife drilled a hole through each and threaded a piece of wire to make an old rusty broken fence section. I also added a small triangle made from a plastic tub lid to make a rusted out warning sign. Painted it up in rusty browns and added pigments on and around the fence. Add a patch of tuft and you have a quick n easy base.

Woodland Scenics foam with a bit of static grass and some laser-cut paper plants from Kamizukuri in Japan. I need to curve them a bit more on the middle one, clean up the fluff, and varnish it all.
