Getting on for half the Termagants and Hormagaunts painted now... got the contents of the battleforce box to assemble and paint next...
As soon as I saw this kit in White Dwarf I decided I wanted to collect a Tyranid army. I decided to go for a more dark and sinister look, so I bought a box of Hormagaunts last week and tried out a few colour schemes before settling on this one.
It's sprayed black, then a heavy drybrush of Charadon Granite, followed by progressively lighter drybrush layers of Graveyard Earth, Kommando Khaki and Bleached Bone. Finally I added some patches of Baal Red wash.
The brood sack is Dheneb Stone drybrushed with Skull White, then given a liberal wash of Devlan Mud, Baal Red and some Thraka Green. And finally the red of the tongue and eyes is Red Gore highlighted with Blood Red.

Tyranids move in on the Blood Angels.
Lit with the "Heidi Ott" LED dolls house system. Wires all over the place at the moment. Once I've decided on positioning I'll model them into the buildings.
The finished Warriors from my Armies on Parade board. Quite time-consuming to paint but lots of fun too. I like doing the heads.
A few of the models have either gore or battle damage.
Lots of fun to paint and base, now we can play. Or maybe now we can paint the scouts :)
Rather pleased with Mr meenie here, sticking to the same colour scheme I used on the Trygon.
