A Mexican native performs her fire twirling along the beach in Playa Del Carmen. She just happened to look over right as I snapped the photo.

Yesterday was an amazing day, one of my favorite kinds of days where I live. We had had rain the night before which left the clouds whirling and twirling and dancing so beautifully among the spires of the Colorado National Monument come morning. It always feels as if the earth is forming right in front of my eyes. Smile.

This twirl is about 3 cm long. Paper cut from a magazine and rolled around a knitting needle to make the twirl.

Last week someone (sorry forgot who) posted an image made using Photoshop Twirl effect. I've had great fun this weekend creating the effect and adding a little bit of my own processing - HSS!
It was a miserable, wet and windy day yesterday, so I decided to learn a new Photoshop Effect. I then decided to combine it with another effect - HSS!
I feel as though I'm lacking in time, weather and inspiration at the moment...but was determined to try and make something of this sweet carnation in a spare ten minutes this evening.
Haven't done a twirl in ages.. This is one of the roses that I used to have and a friend came over and swapped it out for LOVE and kept Paradise for her yard... Happy Sliders Sunday, Everybody!!
Since my Flickr friend Eiona got hooked on twirly images, I thought I need to try one too. I only used a simple twirl instead of the double twirl as I liked the wheel as it was. It was originally a tub of hair gel.
Twirling around with your eyes closed and
pointer finger extended
You can’t tell if you are spinning or
if it’s the world spinning around you
While you stand perfectly still.
Trying to remember everything connected to time and space
You can swim along the blues
Tiptoe around tiny reds and greens
Your finger reaches towards home
But can you find Rochester on a map?
Can you tell which way to Frederick Douglass’s grave?
Can you remember how to get to George Eastman’s house?
So much history everyone knows about
But where was that first set of swings you played on
and bedroom where every night you said Goodnight, Moon?
We carry these things inside of us.
Some biologists say we change over all our cells each 7 years
But somehow there are still cells left over from when we were children.
And we know every bit of the way from Albany to Buffalo.
