I remember that moment. There was silence. Nobody would speak, we were all watching those two holes, endless holes.

The infinite of something too hard to be forgotten.

Then I cried. I cried for those people, for the families, for the whole world, who can be so cruel.

I usually don't want to write my thoughts, but this time I'll do.

These things come from my deepest part of my heart.

I was very little when this tragedy took place and I just remember my parents worried about what would will happened later.

As we all know, the world changed, but it didn't completely.

I wonder why there are still wars and fights between different religions? Why there are still enemies?

I believe in peace, and I find it like the only way to survive in this wonderful world which is ruined by ourselves.

After fifteen years, this episode is not forgotten and I will try until the end of my days to fight and defend every single human, his rights and try to settle peace and love in the whole world. We must all do this. We deserve it and if we believe it, we could definitely succeed.

September 2001: New Jersey

We arrived in New Jersey on September 10th, a day or two early, and were planning to drop the rental car we'd driven across the states to its drop off spot in JFK airport, before spending a few days in the Big Apple.

Well, obviously all hell broke loose the following morning. Of course we were unaware of what was going on. We got up around 9.30 or 10 and phone the airport to arrange for car drop off. The lady on the other end of the line was very nice and told us "oh you just stay put honey". Which was a very strange response.

So we flicked on the TV and there were the towers smoking away. They fell soon after (Cormac managed to be in the shower for the whole lot of this, btw) and we were left wondering what the hell we were going to do. Head to NY like planned? Would our flights go? Would this mean we'd overstay our Visas cos we wouldn't be able to get on a flight?

In the end, we postponed our trip into NY for a couple of days and once the bridges were opened we headed across and stayed on about 120th St. Everything below 14th Street was blocked off anyway.

This photo, if you look very carefully, shows the Manhattan skyline, minus the towers.

September 2001: Wall of missing people, New York City

This was very sad. People holding out hope that loved ones were still out there. These posters were everywhere in the southern tip of Manhattan. I remember being surprise that so few had been killed, given the devastation and seeing scenes like these. But 3,000 people is not a small amount. It's too many.
