DAY TWENTY THREE Today's pic is another taken at the Horniman Museum the other day, Carys seems to be whispering a complicated joke to Sarah.

4.15am Carys rises early again with a very enthusiastic demeanour, she waves to me when I first eyeball her I grunt back through my nostrils, my teeth are two gritted for the grunt to escape. I am more tired than yesterday, I put the telly on and let that entertain her, she stands up against the screen with her head placed firmly against it.

6.00am She is very tired and wants to go back to sleep, she is doing her best to mimic an air raid siren, perhaps I’ll lend her to the local Anti Aircraft Battery in the next war, probably when the Iranians send over suicide flying squirrels.

6.30am She turns down her mushabix and kiwi fruit breakfast, I have now deduced that she doesn’t like Kiwi fruit. She also licked a chicken drummer and contorted her face so much that the wind may have changed, I have now deduced that she doesn’t like my special chicken drummers, I flavoured it with caraway seeds, paprika and mint so perhaps that may have put her off, I’ll try drumming it into her in a few days time.

8.15am Sarah departs for work and Carys is very tired and starts complaining, I takje her to harry moody Park to change her mood, she loves the swings and she changes to happy cutey bunny type baby, success.

9.50am I finally give in to her complaints and allow her to nap, I have waited this long as I think it’s best for her to be over-tired in the morning rather than before evening bedtime. Which I think is the source of her terrible relationship with the land of nod this past week. I also nap with her, much needed, this has been the most demanding day so far as all the hours that I owe mother nature have caught up with me, I am slightly down in mood, this is not helped by the intense manly outing I had in Twickers the other day too.

11.30am Carys wakes me up from my nap! I’m still tired, I prepare lunch of ungarnished mushabix.

1.20pm Jason from KFH (Kentucky Fried House) comes round to value the flat, he gives it a lower value than the other estate agent did from Haart, this adds to my melancholy. He also talks about the commerce side of the housing thing, where really I’m more interested in just finding a house and a garden, where Carys can enetertain herself and I can install some electronically driven swings that push her themselves, and free me up to have more naps.

1.55pm I go to the toilet for a quick wazz, but when I re-emerge to the lounge I find I cannot push the door open, 2nd try opens it, Carys has pushed the chair up against the door. To shut me in and stop me from spoiling her fun of drinking from adult glasses and banging cupboard doors.

2.00pm Jason leaves and I quickly rush to Peckham Rye Park playroup before the estate agent from Acorn arrives at 3.00pm, I sense a bunch of cackling badly dressed haggard fat mums looking at me as I enter the playgroup, are thewy laughing at me and poking fun, perhaps so, perhaps not. I ignore them and take Carys to the library section where she plays with an abacus quite vigourously, she is obviously working out how much money she is costing the family by disabling one of her parents from the wagemill. I meet a bloke there who is a full time nanny (should be ‘Unky’) for his two year old nephew, fantastic job, caring for your own nephew and getting paid for it! He said he felt a bit guilty for taking money from his brother but is skint all the time, as the pay isn’t that great, and he’ll be out of a job in a year when the toddler starts nursery, I told him to join a union and to put in for a fat redundancy package. Carys crawls through a 5 foot metal tunnel about 15 or 16 times, she doesn’t get bord I have to prise her away and race back to the flat ready for Acorn estate agent manager to come round and value the flat.

2.55pm Giles comes round to value the flat, he’s the manager – a nice touch, and I feel I have something in common with him he used to be a designer too, again he complements me on the artwork on my walls (http://www.alphabetclub.com/hb1.html). Is flattery a bog standard estate agent technique I wonder? I have also figured out that they overprice your property to flatter the vendors too, so that you end up putting your pad on the market with them and then cannot sell it later as it’s too overpriced. Carys keeps grabbing the notes out of his file and scrunching them up, she also tries to steal the birol from his fingers but he doesn’t let go, he is obviously straining to hold on to it but not showing it on his face, She eventually finds the strength to grab it from him and his fingers unfurl quickly, thus proving that he was holding on to it like it was a golden Parker calculator pen or something posh like that. Carys looks me in the eye with a victorious grin on her toothy face, I then look the estate agent in the eye and quip ‘Bad luck pal’.

4.00pm Giles from Acorn leaves.

4.15pm Sarah arrives home, thank god, this has been the mentally hardest day of fatherhood since I’ve been looking after Carys, what a relief, I didn’t enjoy it today, I feel like the novelty has worn off.

5.00pm I make dinner.

5.30pm I dust the nursery and lounge/kithcn, and the master bedroom, I then hoover too. ‘A house husbands work is never done’ rings true in my ears.

6.15pm The bathwater drains away and she gently prods the whirlpool, then she walks up and down the soapy bath tub to practice her walking, this spells D-A-N-G-E-R-O-U-S, so I whip her out quickly, it seems more and more harmless activities are turning into life threatening hazards since she has become a stand-up type of primate.

7.15pm I shower and pyjama, then I notice people outside wearing T-Shirts and walking to their evening leisure activities like boozing, dining and promenading around the place like their in ‘Bronx Warriors’ or ‘Grease’ everyone wears a uniform around here, belonging to this cult or gang or wahatever..

8.00pm I wash the dishes and kitchen surfaces and floors.

8.30pm I retire a beaten man.

Last Saturday I took my father-in-law to Twickenham to see the match between Bath and Leicester Rugby Union, dubbed "The Clash". This is the half time view. At this stage of the match Leicester were leading 15-10.

Twickenham Stadium (usually known as Twickenham or Twickers) is a rugby union stadium in Twickenham, south west London, England. Owned by the governing body of rugby union in England, the Rugby Football Union (the RFU), the stadium hosts home test matches for the England national rugby union team. Other rugby union games played at the stadium include the Middlesex Sevens, selected Aviva Premiership fixtures, selected Anglo-Welsh Cup matches, the Varsity Match between the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, and selected European Rugby Champions Cup matches. The RFU headquarters are based in the stadium.

Twickenham has also hosted concerts by Rihanna, Iron Maiden, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Genesis, U2, Beyoncé, The Rolling Stones, The Police, Eagles, R.E.M. and Lady Gaga, rugby league's Challenge Cup Final and conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses, and hosts American football as part of the NFL International Series from 2016.

It is the second largest stadium in the UK, after Wembley Stadium, and the fourth largest in Europe.

Thanks to fellow user Lex-O I'm now fully aware of what's going on, and here's my protest.

In case you guys don't know what's going to happen, here's the text I found on his page.

This is a symbolic mark of protest against the new Beta change which Flickr proposes to force upon all users ..

If you wish to make protest, then please only upload a " Black " picture on the 8th December

*** This is available for download should you wish.

With the new platform Beta Team Flickr intend to make further changes that will limit severely the exchanges between users:

1 - There will be no white space below the photo for description, comments or invitations to groups

2 - Difficult to write a comment that contains more than 3 words

3 - We can not see who supports our pics

4 - We can not see in which groups the photo appears

5 - The images of the award will not be visible

6 - The visits will no longer be visible. The latter will only appear in Recent Activity, others will be lost.

7 - For Admin it will become impossible to manage groups so many will close.

8 - Our descriptions, including quotes, links to YouTube or other sites will be hidden

( translated from Italian )

Changes should not delete/destroy/ruin the very factors which caused us to join flickr in the first place ...

Example of page showing how the Beta Flickr shall be.... in first comment.

"Yahoo has new ideas. flickr is offering 1 TB free space for all accounts. Those who want to be rid of advertisements have to pay.

I appeal you all those who plan to quit, to change your mind and stay. You can make use of your accounts just for storage. Make your accounts private, make this image public and use flickr for storage. You can save on external hard disks.

If we check in to a hotel room seeing it's features, should we bear it without a word of protest if they take away the furniture one by one including the bed ? flickr should know that the people who protest are not against 'changes'.

Changes shouldn't steal away the utilities that made people choose flickr.

Protest ! flickr is not just the property of few people who get paid to serve the people that make it. If they offer 1 TB free space for every account, the salaried people who planned it have advertisements in mind. Many unique special utilities made people like you and me join flickr, and flickr is taking away all what that made us choose it. Now the only special thing in flickr is 1 TB free storage. Let's then make use of it, without caring about flickr's revenue. We can seek better places for what we like, still keep this place for storage. If the 'hotel' stinks and cheated us, make it your warehouse or sty. If this is forced on us, you can make your account private, store everything here; display , share and comment elsewhere.

Thank you.

Anuj Nair"

Users of the English version of Flickr may have got the botton " try our new experience Beta"

This is an incredible regression .....once again

No longer any white space underneath pictures for comments, description, invitations etc....

Everything is gathered in a tiny sidebar to the right of the photo in the Lightbox

All features that allow interaction and sharing have gone so groups might also disappear ......

You may take a look here

yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/224533-flickr-photo-page-beta

If you want to save the groups from a certain death, Please click this blue link and go to vote

yahoo.uservoice.com/forums/224533-flickr-photo-page-beta/...

We had got used (more or less) the first changes, but this time, it is a

total scuttling of Flickr and of its spirit of sharing :(

We can't see who faved our pictures

We can't see the groups the pictures appear in ( except only 8)

Awards images. are not shown

Invitations are not visible except for the last ones (only in "Recent Activity").They're lost.

For admins group management will become a work more and more difficult or even impossible

Groups might close......and groups add visibility to our pictures

Our descriptions including quotes or links to YouTube or other sites are hidden

NO LONGER ANY CONVIVIALITY.. ANY VISIBILITY . NO SENSE

*I specify for those who haven't seen the Beta page;that there is NO

white area under the pictures for descriptions / comments / invitations /

flickr Award Counter

Only a narrow sidebar to the right of the image ,showing ONLY the last 4 comments

White print on a black and depressive background, that hurts the eyes

Unfortunately everything we can do is absolutely useless ....

Unfortunately it is obvious that Yahoo wants to turn Flickr into another social network for teens and young using only tablets and smartphones and whose only interaction is Hi or Lol

Motivated photographers using computers and large screens are no longer interesting users.... ( nor groups since our invitations are only visible on our "Recent Activity "Page....The oldest are lost ....)

How many people know what represents the Beta Page ?? I wonder ?

Only some users of the English version of Flickr ..... but not all of them

All this is very discouraging

Did you know that flickr has been testing a new beta version of flickr?

I haven't actually seen the beta page but I've had it described to me:

"...there is NO white area under the pictures for descriptions / comments / invitations / flickr Award Counter

Only a narrow sidebar to the right of the image ,showing ONLY the last 4 comments

White print on a black and depressive background, that hurts the eyes

No sense. Hard to write comments exceeding 2 or 3 words

We can't see who faved our pictures

We can't see the groups the pictures appear in ( except only 8 )

Awards images. are not shown in comments : which means that neither members nor admins can check

Admin-Invitations are not displayed ( the last ones are visible ONLY in "Recent Activity").The oldest are lost

For admins , group management will become a work more and more difficult or even impossible

Some groups might close......and groups add visibility to our pictures

They allow us to admire beautiful works and to meet with great photographers.

Our descriptions including quotes or links to YouTube or other sites are hidden

NO LONGER ANY CONVIVIALITY.. ANY VISIBILITY . NO SENSE

In fact this layout specifically targets tablets and smartphones"

_Feedback

Unfortunately everything we can do seems absolutely useless ....

Yahoo and Flickr don't care

Unfortunately it is obvious that Yahoo wants to turn Flickr into another social network for people (mainly teens and young ) using only tablets and smartphones and whose only interaction is Hi or Lol

Motivated photographers still using computers (with photo-softwares) and large screens are no longer desirable customers....

( nor groups since our invitations are only visible on our "Recent Activity "Page....The oldest are lost ....and everything is done to impede their functioning)

Advertising is much much more lucrative than our Pro accounts .......

How many people know what represents the Beta Page ?? I wonder ?

Only some users of the English version of Flickr ..... but not all of them

Users of any other language have not been informed.... amazing No ??

All this is very discouraging

A big special Thank You to Marissa Mayer

Bravo ..You will be be erected a Big / Great / Magnificent / Majestic statue on the ruins of Flickr .... Well deserved

England And India Nets Session at The Kia Oval on September 8, 2011 in London, England.

With the plan set for the days chase we arrived at our first location to see it swarming with Fotters. This Tour by the Branch Line Society certainly brought people out in force to see some quality EE Traction thrashing around the SWR network in true 'Buffer Puffer' style. Unfortunately, despite copious amounts of sunshine up to and including Friday, Saturday was to be a frustrating day of 'Full Crud'.

Ahh the good 'ol Cobra. After building the Huey I got taste for some 'Nam building and built this thing. Credit to Lego Major as I used his design to start me off and what came out I do quite like. Cockpit does seat two quite tightly but they maintain all body parts so yay :P

Also as a side note, I don't know what it is but these batch of photos came out much better than usual, comments are welcome. Thank you as well to all my new "followers" (as Twicker) now calls them for checking out my stuff, hope you enjoy!

Yes, I have been to the home of English Rugby. I paid £10 for the tour which was very interesting. Twickenham has all the facilities you would expect from a modern sporting venue. I have a story about “Twickers” as it is known, my mother as a young lady came to watch a match here back in the early 50’s. She travelled with some ladies from her company in Glasgow to watch England she can’t remember who they played. She remembers not seeing very much as back then it was terracing and also smoking was allowed at matches. For me I still find it remarkable she came to Twickenham to watch a rugby match.

I decided to go to Twickers as we Londoners Call it, Its also the Home of British Rugby, With the Stadium in Twickenham nearby, I relaxed in the Slightly parched gardens, Had iced tea and a slice of cake, then sat by the riverside drinking a Coke, and watched the sailing and some people rowing Canoes. Youl notice I diddent take a pic of myself there as I feel people are getting fed up with the sight of me LoL! Hugs and Enjoy your Wednesday Folks. from Terry the HOT COP BOI

We paid our weekly shilling for that January trip:

A long weekend in London, aye, without a bit of kip.

There's a seat reserved for beer by the boys from Abercarn:

There's beer, pontoon, crisps and fags and a croakin' Calon Lan.

And we were singing hymns and arias,

Land of my Fathers,

Ar hyd y nos.

Into 'Padders' we did roll with an empty crate of ale.

Will had lost at cards and now his Western Mail's for sale.

But Will is very happy though his money all has gone:

He swapped five photos of his wife for one of Barry John.

And we were singing hymns and arias,

'Land of my Fathers',

'Ar hyd y nos'.

We got to Twickers early and were jostled in the crowd;

Planted leeks and dragons, looked for toilets all around.

So many there we couldn't budge - twisted legs and pale:

I'm ashamed we used a bottle that once held bitter ale.

And we were singing hymns and arias,

'Land of my Fathers',

'Ar hyd y nos'.

Wales defeated England in a fast and open game.

We sang 'Cwm Rhondda' and 'Delilah', damn they sounded both the same.

We sympathised with an Englishman whose team was doomed to fail.

So we gave his that old bottle, that once held bitter ale!

He started singing hymns and arias,

'Land of my Fathers',

'Ar hyd y nos'.

So it's down to Soho for the night, to the girls with the shiny beads;

To the funny men with lipstick on, with evil minds and deeds.

One said to Will from a doorway dark, damn she didn't have much on.

But Will knew what she wanted, aye... his photo of Barry John!

'Cos she was singing hymns and arias,

'Land of my Fathers',

'Ar hyd y nos'.

We went to Ham House this morning with Libby and Megan. We had SUCH a lovely time, taking the Hammerton "Ferry" (ROTFL) from Ham to Twickenham, all of a two minute crossing...I think the driver thought we were mad, as we opted not to get off at Twickers but just to do the round trip...the thought of lugging the babes (and pushchairs) on and off a boat twice was just too much! We then had a lovely hour or so wander around Ham House's very beautiful and ornate gardens, which was great. A wonderful morning.
