Nope, it's not Tweety, the yellow canary that has starred in Loony Tunes cartoons for more than 80 years. It's a male Yellow Warbler perched in a backlit setting in a Northern Illinois Conservation Area.

a sweet sparrow family took up residence in the left condo...

I went to a local falconry this afternoon which had its open day today, an event that always happens a few weeks before Christmas and then again in May. It's always lovely to see their birds, most of which I have known for years. Tweety the European Eagle Owl is one of these good old friends and I have posted quite a lot of photos of her already. This capture shows Tweety when she greeted me upon my arrival at the falconry.

This photo was taken during the flight display at the falconry's Christmas event. Tweety the Eagle Owl, was supposed to fly from one wooden pole to another, but Tweety loves to pose and was distracted by me and my camera. The falconer waved food and called her but she still was more interested in making sure that I got some good photos of her. Thankfully everybody thought it was rather funny than annoying, even the falconer laughed.

Yellow warbler

I love our tiny boreal chickadee's - they fill the air with songs, and add color to our forests. In appearance they are quite different from their cousins the black capped chickadee's.

Got a brood in our nestbox. The parents are each in with a morsel every 60 seconds, mostly little green caterpillars but occasionally give the little ones a bit of fat ball as a treat. :@))
