She is such a tween. 10 is an interesting age. She can be such a joy yet such a bear. She's finding herself, her image, her dreams. I usually like what I see but am scared at the same time. Time is moving too fast.
Recent home movies of the past certainly haven't helped me with reality. Some days I wish she was still very little.

This osprey is a resident at the Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa, which has been around since 1926. Reportedly, Anne Morrow Lindbergh wrote 1955’s “Gift from the Sea” while vacationing in Captiva in the early-1950s at Tween Waters with her aviator husband, Charles. She picked shells for inspiration in writing the essay-styled book. The author was in the right place. The charming inn was still offering rooms, suites, efficiencies and cottages, as well as a marina and, of course, beach access, before Ian’s destruction.

That’s not baby talk although this is not a baby and not an adult. A young Little Blue Heron making the transition from an all-white juvenile to the steel blue colors of an adult. The prettiest Pondhawks are immature males turning to adult blue. btw we checked out the wetlands yesterday and saw very few odes other than Swamp darners and Whitetails. Painted skimmers should already be flying so I'm worried about that population. 12-spotted skimmers would normally show up this month but they disappeared last year as soon as the drought set in. Time will tell ...
