Firstly, I would like to apologise for over sharing three photography images today, three images in one day is probably unforgivable.
Why I am sharing a handbag image?
Yesterday, I received a package all the way from The Outer Hebrides in Scotland, some beautiful Pure Wool Harris Tweed Fabric. The lovely lady from Scotland rang me today to check I'd received the fabric and curious to what I was making, I told her I was sewing a handbag. I made this today as it was raining heavily all morning and when I told her I had already made the bag she was astonished. She asked me kindly to photograph the bag for her for her website for which I obliged. She sent me several Harris Tweed Labels which I used and I thought I'd share this image with you all.
One of my home grown Gerberas from the garden too.
It's 5pm here in overcast England, time for a glass of wine down the pub with the boys, England vs Germany on the TV so have a splendid evening.

#480 2023 Day 115: The Union Chain bridges that links England and Scotland over the River Tweed. It only recently reopened after a 3 year rebuild
A detail of a jacket collar in Harris Tweed for the Macro Mondays' theme "Cloth".
Harris Tweed is a traditional woollen cloth from the Scottish Western Isles, namely from the Island of Harris & Lewis - yes, one island, two parts and two names! The cloth is highly valued for its warmth and durability. As you can see there are many many colours woven into the fabric, as well as a herring-bone pattern, giving it a very attractive appearance. The red slash is from the lining of the collar.

The image is a tight-crop and has unfortunately lost some IQ in processing, so it does not quite represent the truly high resolution that this lens can achieve.
HMM!

We decided to set off today to explore some of the byways near Peebles. For a change we chose to go the scenic route by way of Stobo. Before we actually got to Stobo I stopped to take this view looking across the Upper Tweed Valley to Drumelzier. I took several versions but this is my favourite because some of the valley was in shadow and I like the contrast.

Winter walk along the River Tweed. The photograph was taken in England, but, everything you see is in Scotland.
Thanks for all your views, comments and faves. Always much appreciated.
River Tweed near Dryburgh Abbey, Scottish Borders
.........................................................................................................
The River Tweed, or Tweed Water is a river 97 miles (156 km) long that flows east across the Border region in Scotland and northern England. Tweed cloth derives its name from its association with the River Tweed. The Tweed is one of the great salmon rivers of Britain and the only river in England where an Environment Agency rod licence is not required for angling. The river generates a large income for the local borders region, attracting anglers from all around the world.
The River Tweed flows primarily through the scenic Borders region of Scotland. Eastwards from the settlements on opposing banks of Birgham and Carham it forms the historic boundary between Scotland and England.
It rises in the Lowther Hills at Tweed's Well near to where the Clyde, draining northwest (10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from the Tweed's Well), and the Annan draining south (1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Tweed's Well) also rise. "Annan, Tweed and Clyde rise oot the ae hillside" is a saying from the Border region. East of Kelso, it becomes a section of the eastern part of the border. Entering England, its lower reaches are in Northumberland, where it enters the North Sea at Berwick-upon-Tweed. [Wikipedia]
Berwick Upon tweed is a photogenic town where I have captured many compositions in the past and on this trip also.
This is the Royal Tweed bridge over yes, the River Tweed, it was a another bitter windy day which left it`s mark on the river with streaks across the water which I tried to capture in this long exposure.
The bridge is 430 feet long built in 1928 and is made of concrete, I do like the cast iron lamposts as was they add character to the bridge and my composition.
