I remember this like it was just weeks ago. It was a hot and humid summer evening and I biked over to a friend's house in Milford, Connecticut because they had a color TV. The entire family and I watched quietly in utter disbelief as Nixon gave his resignation speech. He had won in a complete landslide just two years earlier and now was stepping down in the middle of his term.
The imagery in this shot reminds me of the famous 1984 Apple TV commercial which only ran once....

I vaguely remember circumstances that led to having a tour in the Krasnodar City TV station, but it was something to do with our daughter's school activity. I believe, the school was putting on either dance or choir numbers, and for some reason (perhaps, TV guys liked them) was invited to appear in the 'box'.
I wonder what kind of expert opinion my Flickr friend HAT would have on the equipment shown here :)
