I found this turtle crossing the road. I stopped to move it to the side but saw that it was headed to woods that were being logged so I brought it home and put it at the edge of the swamp bordering our land. It's State land and the same kind of habitat. I hope the move works for this beautiful creature.

A shiny turtle shell with its resident, walking around, looking for something to do.

Turtles are reptiles most of whose body is shielded by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs. The earliest known turtles date from 215 million years ago, making turtles one of the oldest reptile groups and there are about 300 species alive today.

I went Huka diving when I was in Hawaii. Huka is similar to scuba, without having to carry an air tank on your back. This allowed me go about 10 meters underwater.

This is an area in Maui called Olowalu. Aside from coral and many fish, sea turtles come here to get the accumulated algae removed from their bodies by the fish you see here in the photo.

I wonder if they get a turtle wax with their wash?
