Arches National Park lies north of Moab in the state of Utah. Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, it’s known as the home of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches.

At sunrise, with the light shining through the windows to the East, the shade patterns - along with the natural vegetation - created this rainbow-style image at the Turret Arch. This was among the last images I took at this location, and consider myself very fortunate to have captured it before moving on. 4 July 2014 at Arches National Park, Moab, Utah, USA.

In architecture, a turret (from Italian: torretta, little tower; Latin: turris, tower) is a small tower that projects vertically from the wall of a building such as a medieval castle. ... As their military use faded, turrets were used for decorative purposes, as in the Scottish baronial style.

Shot taken at Arches National Park. I figured I would try something different for a change, and do a B&W image.

An interesting view of Turret Arch during a cold winter morning.

I took this photo on a previous trip to Arches but wanted to post it to show how it looks up close in the morning sun. It can be seen in my previous post in the mid-right center from a distant vantage point. That one was taken from the other side near sunset. By the way, the foreground steps give it perspective.

Another project I've been working on. I don't know how many people have heard of this tank, but in short it is a French design for a heavy tank with a 120mm auto loader in an oscillating turret.

Because of the oscillating design, it is extremely hard to get the angles perfect, so I'm still not entirely happy with how it looks right now.

Criticism and advice is really appreciated on this one.

I hope you like it, and thanks for the awesome 2016 I had because of all of you, it was a real blast!
