chicago, il // Luke Lalonde from the Born Ruffians @ Lincoln Hall
- I got to see Born Ruffians on Wednesday in Chicago. They were my most listened to band in 2008 and their in my top 5 favorite bands. It was awesome finally seeing them live. The place got a little more crowded than i expected it to be seeing as i've never met another Born Ruffians Fan before. Either way i was an experience. I was lucky enough to be able to bring my camera with me. I was right up front and got good positioning for the lead singer Luke Lalonde, but unfortunately, there was a huge symbol in my way for the drummer Steve, Mitch was at an odd angle, and the new guy was too far away. all-in-all though, i got off a few good shots.

Taking a small break from my New York photos, here's one from the stache bash for pop'stache's 1 year anniversary in December. This guys name was legitimately Butter. He even had it printed on his t'shirt.
Also...this was edited in the new Lightroom 4 Beta. get it here -->
now i get really technical...
So far as i can tell, it definitely has better controls; gradient and brush adjustments have more options; they've substituted fill and recovery for highlights and shadows and they seem to work a lot better without adding as much grain plus you have the option to add or subtract as apposed to just adding; also they've added the ability to edit white in addition to blacks; my favorite part is you can now edit curves for rgb combined, and each seperately in addition to tonal curves. i found myself exporting to photoshop frequently for that one. this means i can avoid that and having to create a large tiff file. finer edits and composites will still need to go through photoshop, but i feel my workflow is faster now especially for batches of photos like shows.
oh, i forgot to mention: when butter jumped on stage at the end of Yawn's (the band that was playing) set, he began a screaming match with one of the lead singers.

Quién me conoce bien sabe que soy un hombre binario, de unos y ceros, de blanco o negro, transparente, un poco excesivo tal vez.... pero con los pies bien anclados al suelo.

Those who know me well know that I'm a binary man, a man of ones and zeros, of black or white, transparent, a bit excessive maybe... but with my feet firmly placed on the ground.
