Tulips by the water fountain in the Bellagio Hotel Conservatory. This one is a Jpeg straight out of the camera. (Other than the watermark) This shows the bokeh quality of this lens at its short end, wide open.

I had a model lined up to shoot here amongst the tulips but, the non-stop rain botched that. I showed up at 7am...got about 15 minutes of mixed sun and clouds before the rain set back in.

Wow, thanks for all the visits and comments!

nothing says spring like these flowers!

In the fall we planted 60 tulip bulbs. They are a mix of varieties but all of them are from Holland. This spring has been a fun time to see all of the different kinds bloom.

Photo taken at Rosendals Trädgård, a garden open to the public situated on Djurgården in the central part of Stockholm, Sweden.

In Sweden, tulips usually bloom in the spring. When they came to the country is uncertain, but documentation credits Olof Rudbeck the Elders with bringing over the seeds and bulbs after a trip to Holland. In 1685 he had 38 different kinds of tulips in his botanical garden in Uppsala, and the bulbs have spread since those day to many locations around the country.
