If you are a little off the known paths of Rothenburg, you get outside the city walls into the valley where the River Tauber flows. Here stands this beautiful medieval bridge and next to it an enchanting half-timbered house.

The bridge at Kanne was built in 2005 and designed by the bright and creative engineers of the prestigious Greisch office. It is an iconic suspension bridge over the Albert Canal. It was the first suspension bridge ever manufactured in Belgium. The Albert Canal is an important waterway for inland vessels connecting Antwerp to Liège and is present in the three Belgian provinces of Antwerp, Limburg and Liège.Opposite the impressive bridge are the infamous Kanne Caves. For more information about these special caves, I refer you to an earlier upload of mine here on Flickr of the Kanne caves. In 2015, the bridge even became national news when a 15-year-old boy was thrown into the water from a height of 10 meters by a group of crazy young people. The boy couldn't swim and was eventually rescued by some girls. Fortunately, he survived.

Only in the winter with snow the old bridge over the river Regen meets its name "The White Bridge". Why it is so, I unfortunately do not know.

My dear Flickrfriends,

I don't know why,but my computer is maddeningly slow today.I keep trying but no use .I cannot comment! Please accept my apologies.I hope to catch up later on.

Sevgili arkadaşlar,

Neden bilmiyorum ama komputer bugün delirtircesine ağır.Yorum yazma denemelerim boşa çıkıyor.Özür diliyor sonra yetişmeyi umuyorum.

Wait wait ...uploading this changed the speed ! Funny isn't it ? I hope it goes on like this !I've been able to write three comments ! It was like catching three fishes ! :-) LOL!

Note : This photo was taken on the same day as the one uploaded after this,Lucky Tülay and also the one posted before this ,Birdvıew .But for some reason a wrong date is given in the information. That shows how terrible I am at technical things !!! :) :)..I can't even set up the time of my camera !!!The true date is : ı8th April 2008

This pedestrian bridge is just a few years old and will probably be famous for being hung with love locks. Hopefully it is not faring her there like a bridge in France, which is partially collapsed due to the weight of the many locks.

This photo was taken not on the date given in the information on the right but on April 18,2008,as the ones uploaded after these were !(Lucky Tülay and Birdview ) I can't make out how the dates got mixed. But surely the silver surface of the sea is proof of them having been taken on the same day, isn't it ?

Tulay na Bato Falls is just one of more than 15 or so known falls in Siniloan, Laguna province. (There are several more hidden in the forested hills above the town.) Every single one requires a hike through forested and hilly areas to get to.

The name of the bridge is reminiscent of Tsar Alexander III. (1845-1894), who in 1891 had suggested to Sadi Carnot, the French President, the conclusion of a defensive alliance, from which the beginning of 1894 sealed the French-Russian Alliance developed.

Good composition is like a suspension bridge - each line adds strength and takes none away.

Mini-cascades downstream from Tulay na Bato Falls in Siniloan, Laguna province, Philippines.

After a hike through a narrow trail at times overgrown by shrubs and vines, we came across this waterfall in the forested highlands of Siniiloan, Laguna province. "Tulya na Bato" is literally translated Rock Bridge, although that rock formation on the left looks more like a hammer head.

çok teşekkürler Tülay arkadaşım

The town of Christchurch in Dorset is a delight. This narrow medieval bridge, which spans the old Mill Stream, is just a stone’s throw from Christchurch Priory, and just look at it – together with the weeping willow, a joy for any passing photographer.

You can visit Tulay's stream in this link

Town Bridge in Christchurch, Dorset, dates back to the 14th or 15th centuries, and is sometimes known locally as Quartley’s Bridge after a former mayor of the town. It spans the River Avon at Castle Street and is part of a road that has been in existence since at least the 13th century.

Finally, in this short series from Morden Hall Park, here’s another view of the River Wandle as it ambles through the former private estate. In the background is Morden Hall itself – once a substantial family mansion which, along with the park, was bequeathed to the National Trust by Gilliat Hatfeild (the spelling’s correct) in 1906.

Today, Morden Hall is an upmarket wedding venue and the surrounding open space is a park for all the people. There’s no entrance fee, and it’s one of London’s natural delights.

The ever-changing face of London, seen from Westminster Bridge looking west towards Lambeth Bridge and Vauxhall. But look also at the beautiful street light – correctly described as a lantern.

This and the other lanterns on the bridge date from between 1739 and 1750. Each one is in a group of three, in due course supported on a cast iron column bearing an entwined ‘V’ and ‘A’ for Victoria and Albert.

Coincidentally, Westminster Bridge opened for vehicle traffic on Queen Victoria’s 43rd birthday, 24th March 1862.

Lake and bridge with cloud reflections

This particular lake is man made and called the Gaatkensplas.

In the Netherlands we have many lakes , streams and rivers.

The Gaatkensplas is a lake with an attitude. It does not only contain sweet water , but is has , very nearby a real , also manmade , mountain , or , ok , a hill.

Besides that it has a bridge, going from shore to shore , and that bridge is maybe the most crooked bridge in the Netherlands.

There's much wildlife as well , mostly waterbirds , at it's shores , and tourism business is blooming.

And those things , along with reflections of clouds and sunsets , will make this lake get into the photographical competition with the famous lakes of the nature parks in the USA and Canada.

I told you ít's a lake with an attitude....

The little town of Mostar – once part of Yugoslavia and now in Bosnia & Herzegovina – suffered terribly during the war which led to the break-up of Yugoslavia. One of the flashpoints was the unforgivable destruction of Stari Most, the 16th century bridge over the Neretva river, in 1993.

After the war, the bridge was rebuilt in the form of an exact replica, and internationally-funded work was completed in 2004. And here it stands today, beautiful though not of course original.

The bridge is 29 meters high and attracts tourists from all over the world. Jumping from the bridge ('bridge diving') is a local ‘rites of passage’ tradition that goes back hundreds of years; if local boys don’t do it, goes the legend, they’ll be a failure for the rest of their lives. But if they misjudge what they're doing, the result could be fatal.

These days, jumps are strictly regulated by the local Mostari diving club, and the activity’s certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The creature stifled a grin, but only just, drifting back into that expression of veracity "Oh yes, all kinds of beasts walk among us here. One must be ever so careful and aware to make sure they remain safe from the wily ways of all the fiends that lurk about this place"

The sun will set again.. It will be close to midnight and then I'll be able to drop by :)

Wish you a great day my friends :)

I preferred to frame it ...and this big this time ! I just wanted to put two ships ! Crazy Tülay :)

by the time l saw it, the moon was just a little lop-sided - the eclipse had begun at 2:41 AM and lasted for 3 + hours (l meant to get up an hour earlier)

The last time the solstice coincided with a total lunar eclipse on the same calendar day was long before any of our lifetimes. The year, according to Geoff Chester, public affairs officer at the U.S. Naval Observatory, was 1638.
