One of the prototype Rootes TS4 two stroke diesels seen at the Rootes Archive Trust Centre. During the mid 1960s the TS4 was being developed to follow on from the TS3 engine which was developed as far as it could go regarding power output. If the TS3 was remarkable for its size, the TS4 was considered by all involved to be big leap forward. Unfortunately the project was killed off when Chrysler took control of the Rootes Group. Chrysler were committed to Cummins diesels and there was no place for the TS4 in their plans.
