Tried to make this P51 mustang look as powerful as it actually is. With it's massive Rolls Royce Merlin engine. 27 Liters V12... Simply an amazing machine.
I tried to create this whitebox effect. I got a couple of more shots coming up from this amazing aircraft in the same style!

To get a good in-flight photo. Time is running out as these little birds are starting to leave; and not sure how tropical storm Nicholas, which is heading our way, will affect their migration.

I tried something a little different and went to Corfe Castle in Dorset over the weekend.
Corfe Castle was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century, and was upgraded in both the 12th and 13th Centuries. It sits just above Corfe in a gap in the Purbeck Hills. Corfe was the Saxon word for cut, or cut within the hill. Corfe town sits just below the castle and can be seen in the right lower half of the image. Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed / dismantled by Cromwell's parliamentarians during the English Civil War after it was besieged in 1645.
I went to Corfe hoping to capture the iconic image of the castle ruin poking above the mist. The weather forecast was mist but I was left disappointed, but I was still able to capture this image, which I like. It gives the castle an ancient and eerie atmosphere.

Trying to come up with something celebratory for Macro Mondays 10th anniversary. This is a macro shot of a dandelion going to seed. Think it's too processed for MM, but looks about right for SS! Oh - and happy spring!
Trying a different edit on animals and wildlife. This is a resident of West Midlands Safari Park, which is well worth a visit.

Try as it might, the sun had a real effort on its hands attempting to show itself through the fluffy clouds. I just luv these type of skies, as they create such depth.
A play around with the settings, gave me the time I needed to get some foreground water movement. The small lighthouse at Roker"s curved pier is backlit by the sunrise colours.
Amazed I managed to get anything as every time I set up, down came the rain.
Pete Rowbottom's LPOTY winner has remained etched in my mind since I first saw it. Now, whenever I go via Glencoe I pop to this spot to see if I can get anything half as good. Yesterday it was -7 deg C in Fort William, but I watched the temperature rising as I neared Glen Etive, dashing my hopes of frozen waterfalls. But instead of sinking into the usual six inches of dark squelchy mud on arrival I found everything frozen hard. I might have stayed longer, and tried different things to get a better result. But I needed to be in Edinburgh on time. The sky was disappointingly bright and sunny. I will try again, next time.

Tried a get a shot of the second big snow of this year, but I kind of missed the high point with the big flakes.
I found this little corner in the park - looked a bit like a fairy tale.

Macro Mondays - theme: corner
That's the corner of the bottom of a small acrylic drawer (part of a makeup organizer) I use to store hair ties and clips and so on - here a hair tie with orange beads.
Taken with the manual 60mm Laowa ultra macro lens. This image is about 3 cm on the long side (at max).
There seems to be a small weld that you can’t see with the naked eye.
