Tuesday's snow storm brought various birds, including several juncos and a pair of cardinals, in to the feeders. It was a special treat to see the cardinals since they come to the feeders so infrequently.
Again Castle Glücksburg, this swan posed nicely, as if he / she wanted to try to show his / her "chocolate side", so I couldn't resist. Sorry for the poor image quality, my camera was damaged. Hope the following video can serve as compensation:

Trying to make the most of an overcast cloudy day, A visit to Herne Bay to try and find some colour!
Les deux surprises de la journée : un autre tempête de neige de plus de 25 cm et un épervier de cooper qui nous donne une petite session de photos en fin de journée
ce fut vraiment très occupé aujourd’hui à nos mangeoires pendant toute la journée avec plus d’une bonne centaine de tarins des pins accompagnés de sizerins flammés et plusieurs autres . Nous avons observé un total de 23 espèces . Pas surprenant d’avoir eu la visite de l ‘épervier de cooper en fin de journée . Il a essayé d’ attraper un oiseau à deux reprises mais sans succès avant de se percher sur cette buche . Heureusement on avais anticipé qu il reviendrais et notre caméra était prêt.
The two surprises of the day : another snowstorm with over 25 cm and a cooper 's hawk that gives us a little photo session at the end of the day. Today, it was really busy at our feeders all day with more than a hundred pine siskins accompanied by redpolls and many others.
We observed a total of 23 species . Not surprising to have the visit of the Cooper’s hawk. He has tried twice to catch a bird unsuccessfully before perching on this log .
Fortunately we had anticipated that he would come back and had our cameras ready

Maybe he has a better service provider than I have, but I don't think there is cell service down in the gorge. I used my phone too...as a camera hahaha.
This is a natural sandy area at a plunge pool for a small waterfall.

Trying out some new stuff here. Mostly layering and angles. I feel like this build didn't photograph too nicely. The landscaping and layering look better in real life. The angles work better too.
Enjoy nonetheless.
To get a good in-flight photo. Time is running out as these little birds are starting to leave; and not sure how tropical storm Nicholas, which is heading our way, will affect their migration.
Trying out a Nikon D750 with a 28mm - 300mm lens, that I rented from www.lensrentals.com. I liked it, but the price tag for this is out of my price range. Oh well.
After several tries over the years I was finally able to score a South Shore freight going down 11th with a nice train in beautiful evening light. This was starting to become a nail biter as you can see from the shadows moving in after a blue sky day all day. Some clouds from the west would soon move in to prematurely sunset the scene, but the train ran west just in time to make good use of some of the last full sun. Michigan City, IN 9/14/19
