I got him for Christmas when I was two years old. And from that point on he accompanied me through my childhood, lost a lot of his fur in those years and still was the most beautiful and loved bear in the world (to me :).

We had a medical issue this week--most of you are aware, so I have edited my post and taken down some of the details.
Words can't begin to express the appreciation and gratitude we feel for all our friends who dropped everything and gathered around to support and encourage us 24/7. Never has Prov. 17:17 proved more true: "A true friend shows love at all times, And is a brother who is born for times of distress"
Things seem to be going well and we are thankful and appreciative; just as we are appreciative of every sunset and sunrise!

Mike, a very long time friend died at the end of June, but for some reason, I didn't get Julie's email telling me. She emailed me about something else and then replied telling me the news, yesterday evening.
A wonderful father to their 3 children and a great Granddad to their 7 grandchildren. Plus a wonderful extra Dad to me.
Julie and Mike are the friends that often came over to visit us either here or where we used to live. They last visited in September 2018.
Will miss you Mike. ♥

Hello my WTBW friends,
As of today, due to other commitments, I no longer have the required amount of time to run WTBW full time. The good news is that my good friend Jimmy has said that he will keep the group running. I will continue on as an admin and will be involved with the group when I can be. I wish to thank all the members for all your important input and contributions to our group. Also to say thank you for the many friendships I have made since forming this group. Importantly, I want to say a big thank you to Anne and Jimmy for taking on the group, it is comforting to know that it remains in their capable hands. Lastly, I want to thank all past and present administrative members for all their help over the past 3 years, it has been an honour and pleasure to work with you all.
Wishing you all a good life filled with love, good health, good friendships and good understanding for others.

A true story of one dog
The story goes back to 1997, to one of the ports in Taiwan. A few sailors, from the merchant ship “Robin”, were having beer in a bar. That’s where they noticed an adorable, black puppy, with a white collar. They liked him so much, that they bought him and took him to their ship. He was named Robin, after the vessel. However, his presence was illegal. He did not have proper documentation. Therefore, in ports sailors had to hide him in a cabin. Robin was everybody’s dog. He did not have a master. After a few months, a new captain took over the ship. He was a man with a big heart. The captain took care of Robin and they became friends instantly. Robin was smart and right away figured out who is the most important person on the ship. He followed his master everywhere and he lived in his quarters. The captain took him to the vet, where he got his first checkup, vaccinations etc. He also got him a passport, so Robin became a legal crew member, a sailor. The dog and his master sailed together between Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Philippines. The pilots from different ports adored him.
All was good, until the captain had to go back home. He wanted to take Robin with him, but it wasn’t possible due to strict rules and a tight time frame. This was heartbreaking for both of them. They didn’t know, if they would ever see each other again. The captain knew that he won’t come back to this ship, because he was changing the shipping companies. After a while, a miracle happened: Robin’s ship and the captain’s new vessel came to the same port. This time, the master did everything that was required by strict Singapore law and Robin came home with him. That was his final port … final destination. The master’s whole family welcomed him together with his new friend Kasper.
Robin and the captain grew older together. Today Robin is a 19 year old senior.

Well Dasher has had a hair cut this week, so more like a little lamb that a woolie woluf :) I think he lost about 5kg in hair weight and is enjoying the new streamlined look. Bailey my older dog joins him this week as he is always liking to get in on the action. I adore my dogs, they give me a lot of love and joy... Car x
ps no comments please on my terrible doggie grooming skills....they are listening ;)
pps it is so hard to POSE two dogs, it was a real test of my patience, one would sit up, the other roll over, then Dasher would lay upside down and Bailey would look anywhere but at me.. my dogs need their own space and do not like to be close .... unless it is really cold,,,, so that rarely happens. I must post some out takes : )
the only question is: does this path have a Heart ?

Well, Owen "OJ" Jones has his way as he always does with me. He tells me about the above mentioned which is a book actually by Erica Jong. What the book has to do with this picture is beyond me but somehow Owen is always convincing

my best friend from middle school and her daughter came to visit yesterday and today.. we haven't seen each other in a year- she lives in california and we don't get to talk as often as we would like..so we have been literally chatting and emoting for 2 days straight!!

anyway, even though we don't keep in touch as much as we would like- i still feel a deep connection, a trust and a love that is true ...and destined- we became friends in the 8th grade and have been through all sorts of ups n downs, but it's really nice to have that feeling of - no matter what--- i love you --forever :)

as just a few of you know, today was the day i had to return for tests about the bone lesion for which i had a surgical biopsy in early december.. and which was concerning to doctors as my father died from bone cancer when he was younger than i am now..
this morning, after looking at the xrays for what seemed like too long, dr. singer said... unchanged!
when i thanked him, he said: ... well, this has nothing to do with me!
and i knew he was right ~~~ it has to do with You *
thank you from the deepest part of my heart
because of Your true loving spirit and healing thoughts, prayers and energies ~ sent here with selfless generosity of spirit ~ this blessing continues
(i have to go back for more tests in 4 months .. in the meantime, Life is sweet :)

when I was in grade 5, there was a carnival at our school. I helped out with my friends at one of the booths. When I was younger (and now) I always LOVED to slack off haha so me and my friends would always close down our booth for random reasons just so we could look around other booths. I was walking with my best friend around the carnival and we came across this cute booth selling handmade crafts. I remember both of us looking at the gorgeous handmade swans. She asked me if I thought they were nice, and of course I said yes because they were. Then she asked me why I’m not buying one, and I said I didn’t have money on me so I couldn’t. I told her I’d meet her later after the last few hours of “working” at the booth (haha). When the carnival was finally finished she met me at my booth and showed me 2 blue swan crafts. I was so happy for her that she got it because they were really gorgeous. Then she did what I absolutely did NOT expect. She put one on the table of my booth and told me, ”this one is yours.”
Thanks for everyone who read my personal memories that I included in the description yesterday and today. They are both absolutely true and are my few favourite memories (:

Most of us can count our truly good friends in our lives on one hand or for most on one finger, (not the middle finger).
For me, John was that really good friend who no matter where or when he would provide me with support even if it was only emotional support. He was always there for me and I as well for him.
I could write volumes about John, what he was like, what he believed to be true. What do you say about a good friend you have known for 50 years who passes away? There are so many thoughts and emotions that swirl through my mind as I search for one or two that would express my profound love and appreciation for knowing him all these years. To begin with let me say that I was with him the last few days of his life. I had the privilege of seeing him at his finest and the sadness of seeing him prepare to pass over to the next part of life. He chose to leave this world more on his terms rather than letting the diseases of life take him. He made his peace with God and himself with the last rites.
But, let me tell you a little more about him. He was a friend, a lover, a handyman, a builder, and a miracle worker at times. He was always quick with an original comeback in any situation.One time when I got back from a difficult training flight with a student, I commented that I wasn't nervous as "God" was with me. He, John, came back and said, "that's a lie", I wasn't with you today. Another time when I screwed up at work, John quipped about it, "Oh, the walk of Shame"... John was always like that, and a friend to most people. He especially good to (and very fond of) young beautiful women. He had a charm about him that came naturally that women all wanted to be around him. He was generous with what he had and with his attention. He never boasted but was always upfront and honest.

So to John Serna:
He left this world on December 16th 2021, aged 66. He has now gone on to the next journey.
John was a friend, a lover, and for some, a disturbance in the force. Chico, California will miss his vibrant personality. He is survived by five children and numerous grandchildren. I will truly miss him...

My dear photo friend posed for me in this picture of heavy snow in Bryce, Utah...He patiently kept pacing back and forth in the cold snow with these crazy old vintage snowshoes that the tourist office loaned us for the day. (what a kick) I continued to reload and shoot. I was using the Fuji GX617 panorama camera and could only get 4 images per roll. Yes, that's right, FILM! Sometimes I just get so much enjoyment out of seeing the great detail in a 2 1/2 x 6" negative. This has been scaled down as an image size, sorry. You might not be able to see the great detail in the trees as the LARGE original shows.
Every time I reloaded a new roll of film I had to throw my coat over the open back as it was snowing quite a bit and I feared that snow would settle inside and hit the film...That coupled with a very kind model that was definitely ready for a little hot chocolate...Or maybe something stronger.
Being a photographer isn't for sissies!
