The first toy show I ever attended was the National in Dyersville , Iowa in 1998. I knew nothing about toy shows or competing for a trophy. I was totally surprised to get the first place trophy. I displayed around 30 scratch-built models from wagons to combines to potato harvesters. It was the largest display of my models I have showed. But after winning , I got complaints I should not have won it. A few of the other people competing were also complaining. That ruined the moment for me and I said I would never enter again at any toy show. Some of those people who complained are still trying to win it and still haven't won 8 years later. Maybe I did deserve it after all.
