Only 3 cities in Poland still use them, which makes Lublin even more unique. The oldest look like this one, except for one, rather tourist than historical, ZIU from USSR. The newest trolleybus, МАЗ (MAZ), was made in Belarus. Somehow history has made a circle.

An enjoyable evening at the Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum culminated in a lineup of vintage vehicles.
Youngman trolleybuses all came with batteries for autonomous drive, but they were all quickly messed with bad service, so the trolleybus blackouts still look like this.

The East Anglia Transport Museum at Carleton Colville is one of a handful of UK locations where one can still enjoy a ride on trolleybus. These were once one of my favourite forms of transport, and I shall forever regret the demise of the final trolleybus system in Bradford in early 1972. Seen here is preserved Portsmouth Corporation 313 (ERV938), a BUT 9611T with Burlingham bodywork, one Pompey’s final batch of trolleybuses, delivered in 1951. Portsmouth ended trolleybus operation in Summer 1963.

Some pictures taken by the late Michael Cleary. 1983 (late in the year I believe). There was some sort of transport managers conference taking place. The theme seemed to be electric transport. They went to the trouble of importing a trolleybus from Nancy. I think it must also have had an auxiliary diesel engine. A short section of trolleybus wiring was strung up near the tram depot.
