As the air was much cleaner today, I decided to head out to this spot again and shoot the sunset. It was a perfect day with some smoke still shielding the sun like a ND filter. It felt good to be outdoor again.
I took two frames of this scene but did not intend to make a panorama. When I loaded up to my computer, I thought I could stitch them in Lightroom even though their white balance and exposure were off from each other. As a result, I got a panorama with two tones. I decided to use the left frame as a reference to normalize the white balance since I noticed that there was at least one car in white color parked on the road. It would have looked weird if I used the right frame. By doing that, the hills on the right frame turned from yellow to green and that was perfect for me.
Here 's another shot of the rainbow I posted yesterday but at a different location. Later that day, I saw another one. It 's almost non-stop. I think I need to create an album for them.
It has been hazy in the sky though out the evening. I set up my tripod at this spot with a direct view of Mt Diablo expecting NEOWISE would show up anytime. But we saw nothing not even with our binoculars. So we would have to try again tomorrow evening.

alameda county fair. I didn't plan this shot and was hesitant about posting but I loved the serendipity
We had a sweet low fog in the neighboorhood hills yesterday during the sunrise time. The hills is gradually turning to green after the heavy rains. Tri-Valley is getting the best season in the year.

At least three groups of wild turkeys have been roaming our neighborhood these days. They were looking for some quick meals at dusk before heading out. They were not really afraid of humans at all. I have been observing them from the side. This one really stood out as a leader seemingly role calling her family members that they were ready to move on. I really enjoy watching them during this pandemic lock down.
I was curious about the Fall colors in Livermore after the storm last week. So we made a short trip there and did not disappoint. Hopefully, these colors would stay for another week or so as there will be another cold storm coming up tomorrow.
When I took out my trash last night, I saw this bloody moon up in the sky. I have never seen such color except during its total eclipse. I immediately took out my camera and mounted a telephoto on it. Before the moon disappeared behind the cloud, I forewent the tripod and took this shot handheld.

I took this photo with my Yashica TLR when I crossed the bridge over Aroyo Del Valle. It was very contrasty scene, so I exposed for the shadows while hoping that the Illord Delta 100 film would have enough latitude to preserve the highlights. It did but it has this blooming effect that makes the upper part of the photo rather foggy. This actually surprised me and I was quite happy with the unique vintage look. I think I am beginning to like black and white in square format.

Wild Owl Clovers Field in Tri-Valley prior to the Thunderstorm.
The heavy rain was downpouring after this shot, and I got totally wet when I got to my car.

The numerous wild fires in the Bay Area have laid down a blanket of smoke in the sky. I captured this scene when the sun was coming down this evening. It 's eerie as it could get. The dry thunderstorms would arrive tomorrow morning, so we are packing out stuff in case we need to evacuate.

These mustand weeds are blooming everywhere in the Bay Area. I hope the residents of these townhouses do not forget to close all their windows. Our allergy season has officially started.
Spotted this lupine field on a slope today while we took our usual evening walk. I didn't even notice it was there last week. Must have been very recent when these flowers start to bloom. I need to come back here with a real camera.
I took this shot at the St Patrick's Day parade yesterday. It was fun and entertaining. I couldn't believe these recliner chairs had been transformed into electrical wheelchairs. Very cool!
Today we were fifteen minutes late when we walked to this canyon. The wild turkeys had already left and headed home. You can still see them on the slope near those houses.
Autumn colors are almost gone at most places in our area. This was taken just three weeks ago when we first saw the color changes at the vineyards in Livermore. We always try to live through the precious moments with our photography. Time really flies.
Recent rain storms have created a lot of water flow to awaken the Bay Are waterfalls..
Here is the one really close to my home (about 15 mins driving distance), while it had been dried in most of time.
Cheers!
Captured this last moment of fiery sky after the sun had gone down behind those hills earlier this evening. That made my day.
The wildfire from Dixie continued to provide a smoke screen to our sunset today. I took this shot this evening. Not satisfied with the flare from my bedroom window, I decided to clone out the flare with the sun.
As the weather gets warmer, we don't get to see the snowy mountain scene like this. I regretted that I didn't head up to Morgan Territory and check out the snow there. As you can see from this photo, the snow is rather thick on top of the ridge. All that snow has already disappeared this weekend.

Today I visited the Costco warehouse in Orange County. It was very crowded despite shoppers all wearing masks. Who would have thought this photo I took 5 months ago was entirely opposite?

I was waiting for NEOWISE to show up in that evening. But when I turned around, I saw those wind turbines in the far distance. I quickly turned my camera toward them and took a shot. It was still very dark. Not until I had lifted the shadows, did I saw those three cows grazing on the hill.
