We're expecting a bit of weather. Predictions are for between 15-20 cm before morning. Maybe. I'll not hold my breath.

Here in the city, we rarely get the severe weather that is predicted. But just a few km outside and it could be havoc.

I'd gone for lunch with an old friend and as we finished the snow started. I thought it very pretty and took my time before getting on the streetcar home.

i know where you can find one.

Got him just before he moved on me!

Everyone’s talking about teachers and their students today. This 1902 photograph of the Alexander Muir/Gladstone Ave. public school shows the principle, Alexander Muir, and Miss Adda Burger, the teacher of this grade 5 class. Mr Muir is best known for having written the song “Maple Leaf Forever”. The original school (Alexander Muir), built in 1888, welcomed students in grades 1-6. The adjoining building (Gladstone Ave.), built in 1952, housed grades 7 and 8.

The Queen West Art Crawl began as a one-day event in 2003. Since then it has blossomed into a weekend-long festival of creativity and community. Our goal is to celebrate and cultivate the unique character, diversity and ethos of Queen West - a natural habitat for individual artists, arts organizations, artist run centres and businesses that promote art and culture.
