I said yesterday these photos are not meant to be pretty (certainly not in the Flickr sense, and that is reflected in the decline in view numbers). Frankly, I would have no interest in photography if I was just collecting travel snaps and memories, I'd much rather just take in the atmosphere of being there. Photography needs to make us think. That's why so much of my work is linked to words. Images are powerful, but in the end we need words to make sense of our world.

 

Perhaps no writer in the English language blends word and image more potently than William Blake (1757-1827). He was both a remarkable artist and a very strange man. No phrase came to represent the critique of rapid industrialisation at the start of the 19th century than "dark Satanic mills". This was a line from his poem "Jerusalem". He first wrote it in 1804, and it was finally published in 1808.

 

Blake saw himself as a prophetic figure. He loathed traditional establishment religion, but he was transfixed with the language of the Bible, especially that of the ancient Hebrew prophets who spoke against injustice. Blake was also an individualist, believing that true community is formed when small groups of people relate to each other in righteous ways.

 

Blake despised the arrival of industrialisation. This was made possible by the invention of the steam engine by Thomas Newcomen as early as 1712. But it is most popularly attributed to the improvements to the technology made by James Watt in 1764. What Blake was seeing was how industrialisation was making lots of money for the mill owners, but dislocating society. People were moving from their rural lives to the growing cities (especially in the north of England), and living in conditions much worse than those they enjoyed on the land. Disease spread rapidly in the dirty conditions of the crowded new cities. Coal miners were working in the most dangerous conditions imaginable.

 

As a craftsman (Blake was an engraver and printer), he saw more quickly than most how it would become more difficult for individual crafts to compete with mass production of goods. William Morris (1834-1896) picked up this theme in the second half of the 19th century, but by then it was all too late.

 

Industrialisation came late to colonies like Van Diemen's Land. Large scale heavy industry did not really feature much in the economy of Tasmania until the 20th century. One can argue it was not only a necessary "evil", but even more so with the world's growing population. You cannot sustain 8 billion people living off the land.

 

Ironically, all that preaching we hear about sustainable technologies for the future, will of necessity require dirty industrial process like the one we see in this smelter. It's just the modern day trillionaire prophets of Baal (look it up) who suggest otherwise. Most people don't realise that all those Lithium Ion batteries that will power the future cannot exist without the mining of the rare lithium oxide ore. And then what about all those solar reflectors that are supposed to capture the energy from the sun? They have a lifespan of around 10-15 years (like those massive wind turbines). And we already see cases around the world of these plants being abandoned because it is not economically viable to replace them (or dispose of the massive waste). In fact the energy required for the large scale production of these things almost certainly cancels out the benefits of moving on from coal.

When you enlarge this photo all the elements in my title will begin to make sense. This used to be a thriving petrol (gas) station in Invermay. A few weeks ago fuel costs went up 20 cents a litre to more than $2. (That's over $8 a gallon). Supply problems we are told, and they have to phase out fossil fuels. But funny how the corporations always make record profits no matter what. Yet people are finding it difficult to pay their bills. The well-off end of town acts as if nothing is happening, but the middle class is shrinking as ordinary cost of living pressures are driving up the rates of depression (in both senses).

 

And the jobs are going too. You see if you look closely at this photograph you'll see that this is a completely automated (unmanned) station. Pay with your credit card in the machine. Should we expect a discount since no employee works here? Dreaming! Just like the supermarkets are charging higher and higher prices with fewer actual checkouts. You are expected to use the self-checkout. But groceries still go up.

 

Just how will our societies deal with the structured unemployment that is surely coming through artificial intelligence and robot technology? It's time we asked these tough questions, but I don't expect the politicians will understand given their taxpayer funded high salaries and that they are part of the "system". I don't care if they call themselves "socialists". Chardonnay socialists more like it!

 

Economists are talking about the rise of the new Feudalism. The middle class is fast disappearing and the transfer of wealth is all one way these days, as billionaires become trillionaires. Did you notice the latest bank profit statements? Record profits whilst people struggle to pay a mortgage on the higher interest rates (that's if they are lucky enough to actually have a house).

 

When will people start asking the hard questions about our so-called democratic societies? Do ordinary people even matter anymore, or are we all considered superfluous to the needs of the wealthy and powerful elites? Is the 2020s going to be a repeat of the 1920s?

In the new millennium, everything seems possible because of the fast-growing technology world. Nowadays, it’s all about social media and techie inventions. It’s amazing how humans are growing as a race. Apparently, there’s a company whose goal involves sending a bunch of tourists up into space to gaze at our lovely planet Earth. Hopefully I’m going to be the first one buying that ticket when it’s launched (..in my dreams lol). Things like the Internet and cell phones have become an extraordinary new phenomenon. Perhaps Mark Zuckerburg will be the world’s first trillionaire for his creation of Facebook. And remember the days when “to Google” wasn’t a verb? It’s amazing once you stop and think about what these mere, normal citizens have managed to accomplish.

 

People are constantly coming up with new, innovative ways to operate in this world more efficiently. However, I often wonder if it’s really more “efficient” this way? What about the scarce fossil fuels that are depleting? And whilst communication is made easier, will technology black out our emotions so badly that we eventually turn almost robotic in our reactions? Or are we just going to blow each other up (which hopefully won’t happen)?

 

My question is: are we doing more harm than good? I wish I could answer that, but I’m like a technological imbecile lol. I guess only time will tell.

It is 100% connected, and should be reasonably stable in real life. Although it would require a display stand of some kind. The current pictures are WIP placeholders to show completed status of the build itself. Better renders will hopefully follow before whatever October picture deadline is decided on. All she did was to work on her make-up and poilsh her latex outfit. She spent alot of her time in class day-dreaming about what she could get next.

 

It’s was now the summer holidays for Shiny-high, and close to her 5th wish. However, Veronica harbors no intention of returning to school after the 12-week summer holidays, asserting that her rules supersede all others and that she is entitled to whatever she desires, believing herself superior to everyone else. Despite her self-perception, some still consider Moni and Sato to be the most attractive girls at Shiny-high. Veronica's primary ambition is to achieve unparalleled popularity, not only through her increasing wealth and power but also through her beauty. She resents the notion that others might be considered more attractive than her. For her summer break, instead of joining other "shiny latex girls" from Shiny-high, Veronica plans to visit her magical Cave of Wishes with the goal of surpassing everyone.

 

Two days into her summer holidays and 243 days from her last wish she went into her cave. For her 5th wish thinking about Moni and Sato who are still seen as the hottest girls in shiny-high. But being such a greedy selfish girl she would dominate all to worship her saying "Is this all I get, I'm a queen so I demand more." But she was getting more then she had ever had. She was beyond rich not being a millionaire but not a trillionaire. She was the top model on almost every magazine and news paper. She was world famous and was on TV adverts from things like hair and make-up adverts, and had been in a music video for a song called "my crush is too much". Her cave of wishes was filled with gold as her maids worked hard on getting all the gold out to make her palace bigger but the added rooms were to be made of pure gold. When the maids took the gold out, the cave of wishes replaced it with more gold. Her instashine social media page had gone from 15 million fans to 67 million with all saying how pretty, cute, sexy and hot she was in the comments. She loves all the worship wish more greedy plans and wishes ahead.

Veronica went a school called shiny high. She’s is super rich girl who always gets everything she wants no matter what it is. She gets spoiled every day and showered with endless gifts. She has so much latex in her mansion that all the other girls in her school are very jealous. She's a very naughty girl who's mean to the other girls and always gets away with it, Sasha another naughty girl who is made to look like a good girl compared to Veronica. But Moni is still known from being the cutest girl in shiny high. With Veronica being the naughtiest. Veronica was born into wealth with her mother Stacey Salt being the owner of a big gold and diamond jewellery company, and her father is a mayor of the biggest city over-seas call ultacash city. Living in a big mansion with her mum and maids to give her everthing the wanted. Even so being only 15 she was already a model who loved to model in latex outfits, but her latex was not only in her modelling as she wore nothing but latex in everyday life and to school. Her school was called shiny-high, a high-school for latex girls as within the world of Variclex latex was a fashion worn by many girls and women of all ages and races.

From a young age many in her school called her Princess Veronica as she was so rich and spoiled, even so she was not a real princess and she was treated like one being highly pampered. One day on a shiny-high school trip in Hunglix city being the teacher’s pet she asked to go into the palace to see prince Casper. Veronica ruled the school as none could tell her off fearing being sued from her parents. She knew her pretty sassiness always got her, her own way and knew all boys were week to her. Having millions of fan on her social media page with many all telling her that shes the hottest and that they got a crush on her. She wanted to try and dominate prince Casper who was aged 17. So her teacher took the shiny latex girls of her class into Hunglix palace. Prince Casper seeing her catwalking up the red carpet came to great her. Casper was crushed by this shiny latex girl and kneel down before her. He said he'd do anything she says. He said not thinking as his lust for her blinded him said I will give you one thing of anything you want to show my love for you. Veronica giggled. He give her a sheet to sign saying its on paper anyone that you want. She took the pen grinning and sign her name. She then asked for his throne and a gold crown. The prince did as she asked. He was shocked to what she had asked for but was captivated by her beauty. Princess Casper was meant to be the guardian of this magical cave. His role was to ensure that no one misused its powers. But now she was the princess and he was uncrown by her orders to have all his land, she got the cave of wishes to.

  

Rules of the cave of wishes

 

1) Has to be descendant from the prince Caster, or to be given the cave if the prince pass on the crown and throne to another.

 

2) The more you take for yourself the less everyone else has.

 

3) One more than one wish per day, but its can be a long wish as you need to explain in detail then wish for it. but the time for each wish will time by 3 for the time till your next wish

  

The rest of her class had to bow to her most whom were unhappy to do so and then the teacher took them as Princess Veronica orderd. She made Casper show her the cave. Casper said “the cave is an living entity of great power which holds the order of all things. It’s only meant to be used in need” She said “whatever, its mine now” She walked it alone and it was made of white crystal but it turned to gold the show the greed of the new comer. A being made of shiny gold talked to her saying “You get one wish per day” Her 1st wish “I wish to be forever spoiled and showered with gifts every day.” This wish led to people feeling compelled to buy her gifts and fulfil her requests. For instance, she approached a lottery winner after her wish who had won $26,000,000 and, dressed in a cute latex outfit, persuaded him to give her all the money. That night she went out to show off in a few night-club about her city as Prince Casper had no power over his land and his father King Ali was away over sea. Veronica knew Casper would be in bad trouble for give away the throne and cave, but Veronica not cared.

  

Chapter 3 Latex-lair

 

Next day she went back to the cave to make another wish. But the cave said from when you make a wish it will be 3 more days from the last wish. So she came back in 2 days time and made her 2nd wish. “I wish to have the hottest latex outfits” This wish manifested in her acquiring a vast collection of highly desirable latex clothing all made for a perfect fit and with the highest shine. This enhance her stunning beauty making it even harder to say no to her. She came back to the cave 3 days later still wanting more. But the cave said each wish time is times buy 3 to each wish meaning its now 9 days from her last wish. That made her unhappy so she stormed out in a bad mood. She came back 6 days later and asked the cave for her 3rd wish. “I wish to have my entire palace including all furniture and decor, made of the most shiniest latex.” This wish transformed her living environment into a latex-themed domain. She walked out of the cave of wishes into a shiny latex lair, She walked on a hot-pink latex carpet and sat on a hot-pink and black latex throne making all bow to her. “What more could can have?” she said to herself with Carper in worship at her feet. “My princess” said Casper “The cave has rules on how much you take. The more you take in greed the less the world will slowly have.” But Veronica not cared. Saying “more for me then” Many notce that the grass within Hunglix was going and and stromy weather was being more common as blots of lighting was seen on the day of her last wish.

  

Chapter 4 The latex queen

 

2 days before her next wish she heard that King Ali was coming back to take back his throne as being king he had higher power over prince's and princess's of his land. This news made Veronica very worried as she loved having full control over her school, city and all the land. King Ali knew what Casper had done given the throne to a narcissistic greedy dominant latex brat. King Ali would had come sooner but he was in Adderline city upon the planet Pinkkawwie spending time with queen Cyberiee. But word had it he was on his way in a light-star ship moving as half the speed of light. The planet Variclex was not as sic-fi but the light-star ship was sent by queen Cyberiee as she knew the cave of wishes was a powerful place that had to be looked after to make sure it not ended up within the wrong hands. On the 27th day after her last wish was the day of her next wish. In her princess life so far she had layed in her latex bed for as long as she wanted but today she had done her make-up early and rushed out of her shiny latex clad room. “Princess?” said a royal knight seeing her rushing down the hall. “The kings ship has just landed” Hearing this she rushed into the cave of wishes. She heard the king and his men outside as she went into the cave and made her 4th wish “I wish to be crowned queen and rule all the land so none can tell me want I cannot do or have.” She knew this would solidifying her status and making her virtually unstoppable within her domain. Her crown transformed into a shiny gold queens crown, and outside the cave the crown upon king Ali’s head disappeared. Within the cave Veronica giggled with power and greed. She cat-walked out the cave and down her shiny latex royal hall towards king Ali. “What did you wish for?” said King Ali knowing. “What you think, now bow to your new queen and ruler.” She said with a giggle. All bows down to her as she sat on the throne and was put on TV for all to see and know who their new queen was. She sent Ali away as she was no longer a king or even part of the royal family as he was to her not needed. She kept prince Casper as her knew alot about the cave of wishes, but he had no power over it as all the power had been given to the latex queen Veronica.

 

The time to her next wish she knew would be long so she had planning for what she could wish for. All her knights love her but not wanted to give her any ideas which where to greedy as she would wish for them and she already had too much for a girl her age. 3 weeks after being made queen she went to another land called Lixin ruled by King Atlas She knew he had a crush on her as his love for her was talked about by many, His wish when last on TV was to at lest once to look upon the beauty of the latex queen Veronica. So as she had taken a throne from one prince with a crush why not try it again. She entered into the royal hall to where sat King Atlas who looked at her with wide eyes. King Atlas was aged 19 and was the youngest kings of all the royal lands. He bowed to her and she took the crown from his head. “My crown?” said King Atlas still on the floor. “It’s mine now” She said walking to his throne and siting upon it. “But my queen you have a throne and you rule a land.” Said King Atlas, She giggles saying one throne is not enough for a hottie like me is it?” “No my Queen.” Said king Atlas weakly still bowing. She got up from the throne and walked on out, I want it all, and make this new throne of mine latex to, say red and black latex?” She walked on out giggling. Atlas was uncrown like was prince Casper and King Ali.

  

Chapter 5 = Shiny sorcereress

 

81 days after her 4th wish She was thinking on just taken over all the world but in the 81 days in waiting she had taken 6 thrones and lands, as her other wishes had made her more of a spoiled brat. She knew after this wish would be 243 days to wait which would after her 16th birthday. So she needed something so make her unstoppable, she could have as much as she wants alway. She went into the cave and made her 5th wish saying “I wish to be a powerful sorcereress with all kinds of powers.” When this wish was done she had all kinds of powers such as Flight Manipulation, Psychic, telekinesis, and transmutation magic. With her transmutation magic she increased the size of her breasts to give her body a more sexier look.

 

Within her long wait for the next wish She had lots of fun with her new powers and over time she got more powerful as she could open up portals and go anywhere in the world she wanted. But as she was a naughty queen she would take anything the wanted from who ever she wanted. She would read the minds of people and know new things and what there where week to. She would sit fully dressed in a dominant latex outfit upon her latex throne in a dominant pose controll things with her mind.

 

Within this time came her 16th birthday where she had lots of new latex outfits from all kinds such as mini-skirts, tops, dress, some long some short, stockings, leggings, corsets, blouses, jackets, coats, caps and lots of foot wear such as high heel boots some adore-ankel boots, knee-high boots, over-knee boots and thigh high boots. Many give her gold and gems such as and blue diamonds which are the most expensive selling at 3-4 million per carat. These gems came in jewelry to show her wealth as she was now the richest queen in all the world. Many cames from all over the world the see her and spoil her with gift.

  

Chapter 6 = The fairest of them all

 

Now aged 16 teen and having so much wealth knowing her sassy behavior could get her what she wanted. even so queen and could make up her mind if she wanted to go to shiny-high or not, she went back now and then, but did no work in class. All she did was to work on her make-up and poilsh her latex outfit. She spent alot of her time in class day-dreaming about what she could get next.

 

It’s was now the summer holidays for Shiny-high, and close to her 5th wish. However, Veronica harbors no intention of returning to school after the 12-week summer holidays, asserting that her rules supersede all others and that she is entitled to whatever she desires, believing herself superior to everyone else. Despite her self-perception, some still consider Moni and Sato to be the most attractive girls at Shiny-high. Veronica's primary ambition is to achieve unparalleled popularity, not only through her increasing wealth and power but also through her beauty. She resents the notion that others might be considered more attractive than her. For her summer break, instead of joining other "shiny latex girls" from Shiny-high, Veronica plans to visit her magical Cave of Wishes with the goal of surpassing everyone.

 

Two days into her summer holidays and 243 days from her last wish she went into her cave. For her 5th wish thinking about Moni and Sato who are still seen as the hottest girls in shiny-high. She said to her cave "I wish to become the most sexiest, most beautiful most prettyest, hottest girl in all the world, that all will get a crush on me." So the cave did as she asked.

But being such a greedy selfish girl she would dominate all to worship her saying "Is this all I get, I'm a queen so I demand more." But she was getting more then she had ever had. She was beyond rich not being a millionaire but not a trillionaire. She was the top model on almost every magazine and news paper. She was world famous and was on TV adverts from things like hair and make-up adverts, and had been in a music video for a song called "my crush is too much". Her cave of wishes was filled with gold as her maids worked hard on getting all the gold out to make her palace bigger but the added rooms were to be made of pure gold. When the maids took the gold out, the cave of wishes replaced it with more gold. Her instashine social media page had gone from 15 million fans to 67 million with all saying how pretty, cute, sexy and hot she was in the comments. She loves all the worship wish more greedy plans and wishes ahead.
