Une jolie découverte...seule fleur au milieu des bois. RIVIÈRE-ÉTERNITÉ, QUÉBEC, CANADA

Kakadu National Park, NT

Getting a drink of water, this is a warm weather breeding migrant to the Canberra region.

Male in his black and white breeding plumage. Widespread all over the country in open forest, woodland, tree lines along rivers in semi-arid regions and nearby scrub. Hunts by chasing flying and ground based insects. Common cheerful chattering trill is a prominent spring and early summer bush sound. Seen in Campbell Park end of Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve ACT.

I found a vernal pond with hundreds of American Toads mating and laying eggs. There was lots of loud trilling going on with inflated throats as seen here.

... e niente, oggi la noia mi assale.

The name intrigues. And the birds are just pleasantly coloured. The grey in itself is what makes it simply beautiful. Never get to see these guys often, so it was a rare pleasure to capture them.

A family of trillers was hard at work in the lower stories. Very hard to get a clear shot as they love the branchy stuff and are constantly on the move.

Our various domestic migrators are now back in full presence.

How still it is here--

Stinging into the stones,

The locusts' trill.

Don't see these often enough. They are a small rainforest cuckoo-shrike. She was in a corner of Minnippi Parkland which, while not strictly rainforest, is at least Rainforest Adjacent!
