I had to drive 50.1 miles one way to let someone stab me in the hand for my semiannual thyroid blood work. Then I drove home. I was at the VA for approximately 20 minutes total. That's the fastest I've ever been in and out of that place ever. (also, my phlebotomist today has never stuck me before, so she had to dig around with the butterfly needle. I have a bruise on my hand now).
This little dude was just chilling (or warming, more likely) at the top of one of the shrubs that surround our deck. In fact, it was the first shrub, closest to the deck rail and the ramp the dogs use to get to the yard. I only got a few photos on my phone and then this batch with my Nikon before he noped-the-heck-outta-here into the bushes.

This was my eye after my shower this morning. I've got antibiotic eye drops, so it is being treated. But every day it looks a little grosser than the last (which is "normal", I guess). What I'm not sharing is what it looks like when I hold the lower lid and look up. That's really gross. I have to throw out my makeup, which isn't that big of a deal because I only wear mascara and eyeshadow/liner. I'm only out about $20 total.

My Macabre 12 Days of Christmas. AKA The 12 Death of Christmas. I dressed and made up some friends as adorable elves and staged their Christmas themed deaths. I consider myself very fortunate to know such wonderful people to indulge me, especially since this was relatively last minute!! Props to Brittany B, Red H, Mindy J, Beth W, and Ashley E, my models and Bruce H who came for something else and stayed through these as well, plus Chuck who was a big help. I did the makeup myself for this one. Yes, my first ever special effects makeup. I marked these as moderate due to the somewhat graphic content.
