Our Daily Challenge: Old, Aged, Elderly

The fiasco from Washington definitely reminds one of an earlier fiasco. Here I have a mask of "Tricky Dick", and I wonder if our current president isn't following in his footsteps.

An old friend of mine invited me to see a movie, always a good idea. We went to see Frost/Nixon and were stunned. This is a huge film. Simple as it may seem from the outside (talkshowhost sets out to interview Richard Nixon) the story is intriging from the start and developes slowly but surely into a psychological thriller. I found myself glued to the screen and absolutely fascinated.

Frank Langella (Nixon) creates his character with great debt. Although in the film there is hardly any doubt about the great dammage Nixon brought on his country (obstruction of justice, abuse of power, acting outside and above the law) the character of Nixon is amiable and sympathetic and in the end very tragic.

Pip R. Lagenta with his "Impeach Nixon" t-shirt and the historic "Nixon Resigns" newspaper headline. This photo was taken a year or two after Nixon actually resigned. The t-shirt was starting to get too small. The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper is from August 9, 1974.

I've always wondered whether the right side is for really small guys or really big guys.

Photographed using my BlackJack cell phone.

Nothing says fun on a summer afternoon like a paper doll of Richard Nixon and his family. I don't know if there was one for Checkers as well.

3 strobes: 1 gridded toward back wall (from another different lighting setup), 1 through softbox camera-right, 1 through softbox camera-left.

I have no idea.

Kickball was somehow involved.

In school my DJ name for the radio station was DJ Tricky Dick. I kind of have no idea why that happened. Though I think it's awesome that my dad still calls Nixon by that name. Way to go, Dad! Be a rebel!

Before this shot he was only holding one finger up. Taken at the 2011 International Pillow Fighting Day in NYC.

He may not have been a crook but he certainly was a pothead.
