Under The Sea
This was going to be my entry for this weeks @trickybricks build challenge "Under The Sea" but sadly work got in the way and I ran out of time to enter So here it is a few days late.
The Trickybricks Triple Stacker with fries, onion rings and a couple of cocktails.
(Well it is five o'clock somewhere š¹)
This weeks @trickybricks weekly challenge was potluck. We all had to build a little something to bring to the table. I thought I'd give burger building another go and came up with this.
Enjoy
Pirates The Musical was a massive Westend hit in the late eighties, sadly it came to an end after quite a short run.
In the late 90's it was revamped and updated staring many of the original eighties cast, but had an even shorter run, Much controversy hit the updated rerun mainly due to the inclusion of the singing barrel babies, leaving many of the original pirates awaiting a LEGO reboot of the much missed series.
This was my build for the @trickybricks weekly challenge. This week's theme was Pirates.
Thought I'd add more to this build from the TrickyBricks dragon challenge! I included more leaf elements, made it more structurally sound, and used the pot from the Bonsai set to create the final display for a local convention earlier this year! I hope you like it.
With some extra time from being at home I've been watching Richard & Flynn from Lego Masters stream on their YouTube channel TrickyBricks. They've grown such a wonderful community over there over the last year! I've participated in a few of their biweekly (formerly weekly) build challenges, the latest being "Build a scene around your favorite minifig!" I chose the CMF jungle explorer and built a little jungle scene for him and an FJ40 to take him along on his adventure. This was a very fun build and it was nice to get away from just cars for a little bit! Hope you guys like it! The FJ will get it's own post, don't worry.
Or, "Dragon Tree." Built for the current TrickyBricks build challenge, "Dragons!" The challenge runs for 2 weeks but I wanted to see what I could achieve in just a few days. Thanks to Alex_MOCs, Jake Sadovich, and a few other fellow builders for their advice.
Built for the latest TrickyBricks challenge, "Build Anything."
I took a deep dive into my inspiration books and found this vehicular oddity from the 40s. It's a Willys station wagon, built after WWII when Willys expanded their Jeep line beyond the MB military Jeep.
I didn't have time to finish it to my liking, but I hope you guys like how it turned out. The windshield was pretty difficult to nail, and in the end I ended up just stickering it.

Over the many years Skull Island has become notorious with death, back in the 14th Century the entire order of monks died of the Black Death, since then many believe the Island to be cursed. Numerous ships have been smashed up on its forbidding rocks, let's hope this ship makes it safely to its destination.
I created this build for the @trickybricks weekly challenge which this week was a monochrome challenge, the rules allowed different shades or variations of the colour I choose grey as, as well as all the shades @lego produce I have a few sun faded variations.š
I had great fun creating this, trying to work in a limited palette and repurposing pieces really pushed my creativity.
ELMOnster's environment is complete! Had such a blast building this with my SO for the TrickyBricks build challenge, "Make a Monster!"
I realized that I never showed my first TrickyBricks weekly challenge builds here, so here's the first one from August of last year. This challenge was to build something in a monochromatic color scheme so I chose grayscale. It's a small observatory with a telescope inside! I didn't have a lot of time to build this one so I couldn't get much more done than what you see here. The seed parts here were the curved balloon sections.
I was really inspired by Richard's lighting design tips for this one. For the cooler "moonlight" I used 2 Power Functions lights hanging from above and stuck them through chrome reflector dishes. The interior is lit by AA-powered fairy string lights that I got from the dollar store. The background is mostly real; blue and green paper with a double exposure overlay for the sky. I hope you guys like it!
This monstrosity costs $82,000??
This was built for the Lego Disney habitats challenge by Brickfambuilds over on Instagram. TrickyBricks joined in on the fun too, so if you search the tag, there's a ton of awesome vignettes!
Elmonster may look like it prays on humans, but that's simply not true. It merely traps them while it feeds on something more delicious: stuffed animals.
The start of my entry for the TrickyBricks build challenge, "Make a Monster!" is complete! I've employed the help of my spooky-minded significant other and she's been instrumental in feeding me ideas for this monster build! She's new to Lego and will be helping me out with the final layout too, which will be posted separately.
Little scene built for the TrickyBricks "Let's go camping!" collaboration at Bricks by the Bay this upcoming weekend! I suck at foliage so the tree trunk is heavily inspired by a YouTube video. The Spruce isn't all mine either, it's from a Full Plate Builds tutorial. Either way, this one was a lot of fun to put together!

My small build in participation to @trickybricksā #everyoneisawesome and #rainbowbuildchallenge. It may be simple but it means a lot to me: itās not the being different that is the struggle, itās the acceptance that we are not different from each other is what matters most for me
.

I'd like to see the world for once
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace throughout the land
Rays of color burst out from a pulsing rainbow heart, celebrating creativity and diversity.
Rainbow Heart is an exploration of a new LEGO mosaic technique I developed using quarter circle tiles placed on top of a second grayscale mosaic underlayer. This technique accomplishes two goals: 1) The curved tiles can be used to better represent organic shapes, and 2) the grayscale underlayer shows through the negative space where the quarter circle tile does not cover.
This essentially increases the resolution of a 1x1 āpixelā of a LEGO stud in a mosaic allowing for smoother color blending and smaller mosaics than would be needed to achieve the same effect using only 1x1 studs. The quarter-circle tiles can also be rotated into the four different corners of each pixel, increasing the color availability exponentially.
I built this for LGBT+ Pride Month for the GayFOLs Pride Parade and for Tricky Bricks and Tips & Bricks Rainbow Build Challenge.
The build has around 4,500 pieces, uses every color of quarter circle tile that exists (except for metallic and dark tanāthose are very rare), and was greatly aided by the LEGO DOTS product line.

Max āBarkā-tansky was a FFP (Fab Force Patrol) officer who was driven to the brink when the āToe-cute-rā gang hunted down his family.
After his revenge using a FFP Pursuit Special he drove out into the wastelands while society collapsed after the atomic war. He now drives the barren desert in search of guzzoline with his faithful pet named āDawgā.
In a supercharged race for life in his now modified home, āthe last of the V8sā Max survives as a scavenger.

I was inspired by Sunday's TrickyBricks stream about color to see what I could do with my extremely limited dark orange collection, and figured since I'm on an FJ kick that would be the most appropriate thing to try. Now to finish it...
This photo is probably too warm, but you get the idea. I need more dark orange! It's such a nice color!
Trick or treat! This was built for the Trickybricks Trick or Treat challenge. My SO was inspired by another builder's Halloween build entry from last year and wanted to do a build in a similar cutaway style. We also wanted to include as many lights as possible!
As I was working with parts from Bricks and Pieces and the Everyone is Awesome set to sculpt a self-portrait - the functional abilities of the Max-aroni elements led me to naturally evolve the MOC into a full-on rod puppet. Debuted on TrickyBricks, weeks before any information about the awesome LEGO Masters episode, this mini-me has been a welcome addition to our LEGO-filled household. He even has is own brick badge now, and looks forward to meeting folx in person at a future event!

Tricky Bricks Weekly Challenge: Scary Movie Scenes
Who remembers this nightmare-inducing 1985 classic?
This is part of the Trickybricks collaboration to mash Fabuland with Mad Max. My order of Fabuland characters arrived so I was able to put together a raiding rig in a little over a day. (5 hours).
Thanks to Brick Tsar for the Fab and Furryous name in a comment!
Here are some of the Minifigs I was skiing the other day on @trickybricks livestream.
In order: 30 second sig-fig from @BricksCascade this year, to match my #wearableLEGO MOC.
A Scoob-taur based on my friend David's design (he owns the @bricksandminifigs in Canby)
A happy raverš§š¶ć°
A medieval Spider-Man, based on a Spider-Man fig my daughter bestowed this spider cape upon.
Brick Grimes - best I could do with parts on hand, possibly done before, but I wasn't looking. For an upcoming MOC.
The protagonist from Sturgill Simpson's 'Sound and Fury'
A heavy trooper, just really a pleasant result of placing the respirator on the Hero Factory body
Lastly. My cameo fig from the giant Apocalypseburg build at Bricks Cascade 2018, when I stoked Mark and Boone's #beardedapocalypse flames.
Thanks for checking them out!
I had such a lovely time hanging out with Flynn, Richard, Holly, Moto and all of you who watched the stream on YouTube ! š
Looking forward to being back on soon! Happy Friday!

Introducing the 'Doom Buggy' and it's cut-throat crew! Headed-up by Iam the Walrus, know for their catch-phrase 'Coup Coup, Cut'choo!'.
Locals lose their minds when these furious furries roll through, leaving a trail of terror and tire-tracks behind.
Big props to TrickyLug and all those who participated in this Fabulous Collaboration. FabMaxFurryRoad will FURever be an incredible testament to the power of creativity and humor in these troubling times. I couldn't be happier with the outcome, from the time of it's inception live on Flynn and Richard's stream, to this whacky weekend of wonderful works of true mashup-madness. Y'all rock! š
May we all be gifted with the joy of seeing this primary-palleted-post-apocalyptic-paradise come together in reality sooner than we fear, but not too soon.

Velosity vs. the dragon
The fastest jouster in Astra, Velositi rides into battle against dark dragon that has been terrorizing villagers in a far corner of the kingdom.
This is my entry to a week long build challenge by Trickybricks from Lego Masters US to build a hero in a scene and have it fit into a 24 x 24 base plate with overhangs allowed.
BUILD TIME: 3 hours, 2.5 hours for the "fast build" challenge I made for myself on Sunday afternoon.
Here's a video of the techniques: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUF_Al7jgn8

Something a little darker for this weekās Tricky Bricks ā16Ć16 Halloween sceneā build challenge.
āSix Bricks Underā.
Bruno Bear could never forgive his wife Lisa Lamb for giving away his childhood LEGO. The only way he could move forward was to bury her alive, six bricks under.

Small personal MOC for this weekās Tricky Bricks ā8x8 sigfigā build challenge. See ~50 other signature minifigure entries on their family-friendly YouTube channel.
My first ever LEGO set was Fabuland back in 1980. And my middle name is Lamb. So my sigfig was always going to be the adorable Lisa Lamb. I also have long eyelashes, so there is a family resemblance!
This little 8x8 vignette shows me in my happy place tinkering with some vintage LEGO. Completely oblivious to the missing brick under the table!
N.B. The number 13 crocodile tile represents my lucky number.

Moira, Johnny & David Rose in LEGO Brickheadz form, from the award winning show Schitt's Creek <3
Built for TrickyBricks Brickheadz Challenge, these were my first custom Brickheadz I had ever designed. It was so tough to find a series that had not been done before, as I've watched almost all of my favorite IPs get amazing custom BH designs over the past few years. Thankfully, watching this show during Lockdown led to some magical inspiration.
The Wedding outfit was an exciting challenge to undertake, and I'm really pleased with how they all turned out. Holly Wachtman also made Moira in Crowening form, which was absolutely hilarious and amazing!
I look forward to making more characters like this in the future, for sure! It was so much fun!
