Schloss Linderhof was built between 1869 and 1886 by King Ludwig II, the last king of Bavaria.
The King was a big admirer of Louis XIV, so this palace and the grounds are kind of a pocket-size Versailles, located in a valley in the Ammergau Alps, not far from the Monastery of Ettal.
On the palace grounds you can find many statues representing the same concepts (Evening, Morning, Continents, etc.), or Greek / Roman gods, as in Versailles.
King Ludwig lived a reclusive life, he rather stayed in one of his hunting huts or in this palace in the mountains, as in the official royal residence in Munich.

Please don't worry about commenting on my photos at the moment. My shoulder/neck/arm are playing up....AGAIN! I was rather dismayed to discover that it's now been more than a year since I first got this problem. Anyway, I'm going to have to restrict computer time, so I'm sorry if I can't pay as much attention to your photostreams as I would like.

I had a glimpse of melancholy, though I love plants and green, and I recommend more green places than industrial. It felt like a nursery with babies.
