I like to share with you how a I did these icepictures if it could maybe inspire someone. Last wniter I was at a frozen lake and took a block of ice and smashed it on the frozen lake surfase and of course it broke into thousand bits. You can see an owerview on pic Iceplay 5/5. Than I put the camera on the icesurface and shot a lot of shots inn all derections of the sunligt at different icecubes mostly at a close range. Some of the cubes had been broken earlyer by someone and the sun melted theyre edges so they were softer.
When I came home and saw the result I was amazed and pleased to see the results. How different the colors and the ligh treflections were all depending on the angel of the sunlight, which by the way was shinging from a low angel (afternoon sun). It was then I realized how true it is to say that with your camera you paint light.
In the editing I just did some cropping and tuning in Picasa which by the is the only edidting program I have and know how to operate, still.
So my conclusion is. I don’t need complex and expensive programs or expensive cameras and lenses to do nice light painting.
I hope you enjoy theese shots and to you all my flickr friends I say: GO OUT AND PAINT LIGHT AND HAVE FUN….

Ao Nang is a central point of the coastal province of Krabi, Thailand. The town consists chiefly of a main street, which is dominated by restaurants, pubs, shops and other commerce aimed at tourists. The main beach is used by sunbathers to a certain extent, but there are hundreds of longtail boats which offer access to other beaches on the mainland and on nearby islands.
This Chinese bridge once looked like something that had been through Armageddon. Bruce Willis could have used it on the asteroid but those memories are in the past. It has been restored since then and now is a popular attraction in Pains Hill Park. I love the reflection you can get in the near still water. The lake it huge and covers a big part of the middle of the park With lots of niche features around it. Oh and ducks. Lots of Ducks.
I like this trees reflected, but I didn't have a SLR camera at that night, so no long exposures were possible.
Each year, I'm sure they try to outdo how awful this display is from a previous year!
