So I'm probably the farthest from the label "Treehugger" but I keep finding myself in these situations where I'm being an uber-green person and I realized that how I live "green" is similar to how I'm compelled to volunteer- I do it first for ME, it just so happens others benefit. That's just a random note I felt like sharing.

Anywho, this super sweet polka dotted light fixture got the axe when we moved into our old house and when I was home visiting recently my mom was about to pitch it, so I stole it. I then found a clearish rose/flower button and some silicon glue and sealed up the hole in the center (I could've used anything since you don't see it, however the silicon did end up being a nice gripper since this is glass on glass). I used some left over fish tank gravel and then I just pop in whatever candles I happen to have (I prefer the cheapy tea lights from ikea- I throw at least six of them in) and voila- a free, easy, recycled and nifty-looking candle dish/plate/whatever.
