Treehouse television and website - multitasking for 5 year olds.

When I told my wife that I didn't want to make a sandbox in the back yard for our youngest granddaughter....(I had built one for the older grandkids long ago, and making sure it did not become a destination of choice for the neighborhood cats was a constant hassle).

"OK, then, make her a treehouse!" was her reply to that.

I have found that everything takes longer than it used to, and it's summertime, for goodness' sake. I've found that climbing up and down in 100° weather is much more complicated now, and can't be endured for long spells at a time. BUT, that did not keep the old lady from telling the kid she was getting a treehouse.

So, for the past month or so, every time I've seen the little granddaughter, she's asked, "How's the treehouse coming?". Yesterday, I finished my project in the morning, lacking only to police the area and clear away the construction debris.......Then I heard that she and her mommy were coming over in about half an hour, so I quickly cleared the tools and junk from the floor, and tossed the boards aside which were cluttering the pathway.

Very shortly after we'd been out there, and the kid had tried the treehouse out for size, I returned to the back yard to notice that, in the short time since we'd been out there, a cicada had chosen the site to leave its past behind.

Been working a bit more on the tree house. Its nearly complete. Just a few more things. A slide, and a swing set. Things are looking good. Fun to love on my boys in this way

Even the baby-changing facilities in the Alnwick treehouse look they are, well, in a treehouse.

...odds are high it could become a handrail for the new stairs up to the treehouse deck. Stay tuned.
