Found this little guy while hiking a rather hard trail from Gandoca to Manzanillo, Costa Rica. He reminds me a lot of the Pacific Green Treefrogs we have in Oregon, USA, but obviously he's a different species.
This is my favorite picture ever! I was looking at caterpillar on a tree and I spotted a tiny hole. I had an urge to look inside but it was too high for me. I took my camera and raised it up and shot pictures down into the hole and was delighted and awestruck by what was revealed! This amazing and adorable little tree frog!
One rainy evening this past July I arrived home from work and took my trash cans to the curb for pickup. on my return to the house I noticed this fellow trying to remain unseen at the edge of my driveway. He was a very large frog , much larger than any tree frog I had ever seen,(I am guessing he was some sort of tree frog) so I was very excited to get a few photos of him. I quickly went in the house and grabbed my camera and returned. On my return he was still rite were I had last seen him and we had a nice little photo session.
These guys were hanging out in the yard after a little rain. After looking at different species of tree frogs, I think these might be Squirrel Tree Frogs.
