Framed by stately Cottonwood trees, this is one of many lovely views from our city's lakeshore.

This is looking eastward to the rolling waves of Lake Michigan.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

A view from Mount Nemo on a misty Autumn day.

Tree arches and perspective discovered at Garin Regional Park in the hills east of Hayward, CA, San Francisco East Bay Area.

Discovered a natural framed view of Mt. Tamalpais across the San Francisco Bay From the Berkeley Mariana.

A quiet morning unfolds over the Krickenbeck Lakes as the golden sun rises behind a veil of mist. Framed by an old oak tree and dense riverside greenery, this view captures the serene magic of dawn at one of the most diverse wetland landscapes in the Lower Rhine region.

This moment was taken during a photohike at sunrise, when light, reflection and silence converge. The area is known for its birdlife, reed beds and moorland biodiversity — and this tranquil mood reflects its poetic essence.

Last sunset as the excessive winds developed up to 60 km per hour ( glad it didn’t reach 100 km per hour ). Despite the 30 minutes loss of electricity, and a few trees down, no significant damage to our region. Today sunny and a high of 6C, but still windy 30 to 40 km per hour.

Lake Mulwala is an interesting expanse of water and can look quite interesting and beautiful but marred in its view by the myriad of old dead gum trees that must make navigation for water skiers dangerous and difficult. Located between NSW and Victoria, Australia.

In 1939 Yarrawonga Weir was built across the Murray River between Yarrawonga in Victoria and Mulwala in New South Wales to create Lake Mulwala. It is located immediately downstream of where the Murray and the Ovens River meet and upstream from the Barmah Millewa forest.

Just over 10 years ago, GM43-GM42-2214 head a loaded Loxton to Port Adelaide grain train framed by one of the numerous scrappy mallee trees in the Mallee Region of SA on Saturday April 4, 2015. IIRC this was one of the last grain trains to operate on the Loxton branch before it was closed and was chased by an enthusiastic posse of fans - one or two more enthusiastic than others!

GWA narrow gauge grain train at Cummins on the isolated Eyre Peninsula railway in South Australia, March 27, 2019

A framed copy of this photo was given as a gift to all GWA Eyre Peninsula rail employees when the line closed.

With Union Pacific 4034 on the point, the graffitied nose of an SD70M turns into the morning sun as at Cable as the Los Angeles bound Intermodal train out of Brooklyn, Oregon goes into the final few twist and turns of the Tehachapi Pass's North Slope. In less than five minutes the train will be blasting through the crest at Summit Switch and the train will begin it's decent into the Mojave Sink.

“I thought San Diego must be Heaven on Earth… It seemed to me the best spot for building a city I ever saw.” – Alonzo Horton, 1867

When I am not exploring the jungles of Cambodia or looking for the nearest taco al pastor stand in Mexico, I do occasionally get a chance to photograph around my hometown of San Diego.

San Diego’s modern skyline has been described as “contents of a toolbox.” Find the:

1) “Flat-head screwdriver” of the twin towers of the Hyatt Hotel.

2) “Phillips screwdriver” of One America Plaza building.

3) “Allen keys” of Emerald Plaza.

San Diego, with its “toolbox” skyline, is Heaven on Earth, so there must be a Home Depot in Heaven!

Thanks guys for all your views, comments and favs!

Happy Travels!

Taken back in August at one of the parks here on Long Island. This is one of my favorite shots to date, especially with the way the framing worked out. Another thing I like how this shot came out after doing some tweaks, it looks like a painting sort of.

On the same late afternoon when I experienced the magic of light and fog in the forest and on the mountain, I discovered this breathtaking view. Looking through the natural window framed by trees, it felt as if I were peering into another world—a world serenely floating above the misty sea that settled over the valley.
