Sorry for all the tree pictures lol! I think i just went bananas with the beautiful fall we had this year . . .
She stands on the hillside swaying low,
Her branches moving to and fro,
She waited through the years for me,
A faithful friend, my maple tree.
- Winnifred Jenki, The Maple Tree
But what really caught my attention was how the sunrise painted the trees, only the trees. Pictures taken from a back window, opposite from he sunrise. Even that huge bird nest was painted in orange-red.
Looking up can be surprising. Often pleasantly surprising.
Picture shot at the Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton in Krabi, Thailand.
This is one of my latest works where I have been proud. It remembers me on cypress tree pictures from toskany. I captured different crops, only this excentered version with more space in the sky produce this impression.
Project 365
Thoughts and reflections.
The year-long project with one picture a day is over. Thanks for looking at the pictures. It feels a bit strange, how can a year go by so quickly? It has been very developing, I have stopped taking digital photos completely, instead I have tried to calm down the flow, let each picture be important.
There have also been far too many forest and tree pictures, when I actually like street photography, but that is probably due to laziness, it is hard to go into the city.
A very positive thing is that I started in the darkroom again, developing, copying and toning. Then I have tried my hand at Lith printing which is very exciting. I have rebuilt the darkroom and I enjoy it very much there.
Feels a bit empty without any project in sight but I will spend more time with the large format camera in the near future, maybe I will dare to photograph people with it in a park…

Tree images are one of my favorites, and for me, one of the hardest to take. I just can't seem to quite get my tree pictures to match how I see them in my head. I'll either adjust my head or just keep trying.
Fox squirrels on an early Fall day at the University of Michigan. I have been feeding a momma on the bur oak tree inside the Ross complex. Today, her juveniles are making their way up and down the tree. Saw two in their cavity nest and one out on the tree. Pictures from Ann Arbor on a few quick walks through campus - Tuesday October 12th, 2021. Wishing you joy and health wherever you are.
the second of my tennis ball tree pictures. I just thought Asha had a guilty look here and so she should as she stole one of the balls from the tree when I wasn't looking so this caption is probably true and not a made up one...lol

Last of our Trees pictures that doesn't have a flower in it.
A chapter is closing, another one is about to bloom.
Ohhh you guys better love fall, because by the end of my tree spam you will probably hate it hah. I mayyyyyyyy have gone a little overboard with tree pictures but I don't care!
p.s. this was taken in a moving car on a very murky day, so if it looks blurry/overedited, well it probably is.
Hopefully I get a really good one and i'll paint it.

The 3rd picture of my tennis ball Christmas tree pictures of Asha. I hope this brings a smile to somebody... : ))
During the time of the coronavirus pandemic and social (physical distancing), early morning became my ecological niche to enjoy life while avoiding contact with other people. Although it would have been most obvious to take pictures of places without people and practice the Japanese art style of absent motifs (留守模様), nothing drew me to anything human.
I preferred nature and particularly trees that became my personal obsession of that time. Whenever looking at these different trees, there always came a quotation from the ancient Chinese Daoist philosophy of Zhuangzi to my mind 是不材之木也,無所可用: “It’s not a timber tree, there's nothing it can be used for” ―― except of course for enjoying it just as it is …
However, I think that there is more behind the tree pictures than Zhuangzi’s typical praise of uselessness. Eventually, I became aware of a state of mind I never thought of as a possibility, but that became appealing: Biedermeier. Although I had never thought of Biedermeier art as anything other than "stuffy" or "boring," I could suddenly understand the concentration on the domestic and the non-political, the longing for stability, security, honesty, modesty, decency, sobriety, a simple elegance. I am also able to empathize with the predilection for everyday life and its details, ist tranquility and coziness. Am I becoming Biedermeier’s best friend?
Finally, I have to ruminate over a quote from a philosopher of the Biedermeier age who died from a pandemic of that time (Cholera):
“History is not the soil in which happiness grows. The periods of happiness in it are the blank pages of history.” (Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel)

Caught in that summer down pour. I decided I may as well snap some pictures. lol. The image I say was a gift from above. I couldn't re-create if I tried. This picture touches me inside. Stir an emotion that can only be felt and not described. Hope you all enjoy. Please show me the way to you favorite tree pictures too.
You might notice where we are from that mountain going across the picture.
Wouldn't you say it has a weard texture?
Well, it can have as it is covered with bamboos.
We are back in Mukeng, that bamboo forest that was magnified in Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon, that you maybe previously saw when I was sharing trees pictures for all greenery lovers.
Just saw the tree as it's best and the arch shaped windows of the house are a little unusual too. More tree pictures www.flickr.com/photos/pauls_fotos/sets/72157600113525070/

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I have like a million of the foggy tree pictures, but just trying to decide which ones to add. I think this'll be my last of them. ...For now.

These shapes in the sand reminded me of a row of little trees, pictures like this are a benefit of always having your macro lens to hand when at the beach.
