These little trees have suffered damage many times over the years but yet they endure the hardships of the marsh with great resiliency.

I often come across designs on bark, trees and other forest growth and natural elements that create patterns that remind me of faces, animals and oddities. I decided it is time to start photographing them.
Also a Happy Smile on Saturday!
This is actually a reflection on our pond while pink clouds were in the sky. The image was flipped and processed to bring out the color and detail.

In the fantasy world of Sevonia the trees fight for survival. You may walk through here, the mysterious forest, and hear a crash behind you as one giant crashes to earth felled by one of the venomous Triggly trees. They demand space, and light and when another gentle leafy tree spreads into their space they reach out a branch to touch the invading neighbour. For their branches are deadly toxic and within ten minutes they literally sap the life from other trees. They fall and die with surprising speed. Beware the Triggly tree and the Clash of the Titans in the forest
Whilst walking along the banks of the River Wey yesterday afternoon I was struck by the way the light lit up the scene in front of me. The Alder tree with its brown catkins and the orange Willow shoots stood out against the dark sky in the low winter sunlight. There was no need to increase the saturation during processing on this image.

This towering, neighborhood tree stands on a vacant lot dwarfing the other trees around it. I often wonder what stories it could tell and how it came to dominate the horizon, defying storms and the sawblade. It has a covering of new leaves now, which gives me hope that my country and our democracy will endure through this time of "Trumpian" darkness.

Inverted for northen hemisphere viewers as I am helpful like that.
Tonight I am serving venison provided by a very nice Swedish guy who was our neighbour. It has been marinading 24 hours in port and herbs and now gets slow cooked till dinner time. Hope this works, I haven't tried it before.

This tree went down in a summer storm a few years ago. Now it looks like a tree man standing out in our field. Especially in a snow storm like the one we had yesterday.
