This scene caught my eye on a walk round the Calke Abbey grounds. The centrepiece is the dead tree. The autumn colours surrounding it were stunning. Taken with new lens on old camera.
Dawn near Vlaardingen. A misty scene, featuring my second favourite group of trees in this rural area.
HFF!
I will pass that lovely milestone of 1,000,000 views today, which seemed unimaginable such a short time ago. What a journey Flickr has been! I thank you for your inspiration, expertise, beautiful images, comments, kindness, encouragement and most of all your friendship. I feel that I know wonderful photographers from all around the world. Makes the world more wonderful and a little cozier, don't you think?
It's a shot taken on Christmas Eve day in 2013 following a massive ice storm in the Saginaw, Michigan, area. Every branch of every tree and shrub was covered with a heavy coating of ice. And with a substantial snow cover on the ground, and temps in the single digits Fahrenheit, it was a cold but beautiful day with the sun shining brightly.

Last shot before we got back to the parking lot to head home. Thought it was an impressive tree and when I showed it to my husband he said I should try processing it in B&W. So I did and I liked the results. Uploaded in Lightroom and processed it in Silver Efex Pro2. Paynes Prarie Preserve State Park.

From the archives for Tree-Mendous Tuesday.
Though some trees in my neck of the woods are already bare, others as of late last month were still hanging on to their autumn colors. This beauty was photographed shortly before sundown at Seven Lakes State Park, near Fenton, Michigan.

Flickr friends, after Tuesday I'll be taking a short Flickr break. See you when I return.
Autumn is here and brings with it seasonal beauty and mood swings. So let's prepare visually for the farewell to warmth and sunshine for the next month while celebrating Autumns splendour! Unfortunately I haven't been able yet to get into the forests this Autumn, so an image from my archives must suffice while I am hunting this year's fall scenarios ;) :)

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
For this Tree-mendous Tuesday, I played with high key effect to showcase this gorgeous Japanese Maple in my neighbour’s yard. Spring fever around here is showcasing lots of fresh vibrant colors in the new leaves of many trees around us, especially with the sunny days we are finally getting.

I climbed Enchanted Rock, which is 500 feet high. This isn't from the top..:) Luckily, I had my camera with me. That way, I had an excuse to stop. I did make it to the top, I just wasn't the first...:)
It was an odd and somewhat raggedy looking little tree, but it had lots of tiny white blossoms and seemed to be a decent candidate for my second attempt at the Pep Ventosa technique. The method involves walking around a subject while taking multiple shots along the way, then merging those photos together in post processing. This image was made using nine of the 15 photos that I shot, with additional processing using various Topaz filters.

My initial attempt at this method using a room fan as subject was posted about three weeks ago, and is in the first comment.
