This is an antique Edwardian locket from the early 1900s featuring a spiraling guilloche enamel face with a magical golden shimmer that glides across the pale blue backdrop. Hand-painted.

It was a gift from my late uncle. I have had it since my childhood.

My great-grandmother's brooch. Now I am a grandmother myself, this brooch has been around a while.

A silver brooch, made in Thailand, that belonged to my grandmother that I inherited from my aunt. I took the photo with the brooch lying on the shiny side of a compact disk. For the Macro Momdays theme; treasured. Width 1.75 in.

In the deep islands of the south, 20 kilometres out from the Caribbean, Mary Read, under the leadership of Jack Rackham, ventures to make a discovery.

The "Candy ring" and the "Candy bracelet" (a big one) in this picture are very nostalgic for me :)

Because when I was a little girl,

the candies like a ring were popular sweets for kids.

Especially girls! :D

Shore treasure hunting conjures up glamour, excitement and riches ripe for the discovery. The reality, however, is often different: The small industry of real-life hunters live a dream that comes with its own share of heartache and disappointment

I just want to thank you all for your outpouring of support on my last post. It means so much to me to know that you are all there for me and that you care.

A treasured tiny framed portrait of my youngest son cropped to fit the Macro Mondays 3 inch = 7.5 centimeter size limit.

We were recently in Kamloops where I have been trying for a very long time to photograph the hills and hoodoos. A little research and voila, the way to victory. Fences galore that have in the past skewed my vision or prevented access, now serve as a leading line. Hills so distant, that in the past only a telephoto brought them into view, were now in need of a wide angle lens to fit them in. I was like a kid in a candy shop and it was all there for the taking.

The next number of images will be from Kamloops along Shuswap Dr. East and taking advantage of this area. It was a fun three days to be out and enjoy this very old and wonderful backyard of treasures.

I started my collection of LP’s in 1965 and throughout all these years I have had several devices to reproduce my collection, the best way to enjoy my musical treasures is to have a needle and cartridge in good condition taking care of its cleanliness.

Huts in the small museum-harbour of Nymindegab in Summer, Jylland, Denmark

This is Paulina Falls in Oregon, part of the 54,822-acre Newberry Volcanic Monument area. It was a very chilly day when we explored this area. I took this shot from an overlook, but afterwards, we ventured down a steep and snow covered trail so I could shoot both waterfalls. I'll post that image at a later date.

A gift from my mum many years ago, after her long awaited trip to Russia 💙

It reminds me of the joy she felt at a dream come true and has given my daughter and I a lot of pleasure too 😊

When walking in our neighborhood, I always see lovely flower specimens that I'd love to collect for my macro photography exploration. My basic rule is that the flower must have fallen off the host plant (thus insuring my neighbors don't dislike my presence). This lovely flower had fallen to the ground under our neighbor's tree...thus is was officially mine! Inside the soft folds of the petals, I found this intricate center.

My eldest daughter's first tiny little leather booties. I have lost so many of my belongings over a number of international moves but a few things are still with me to treasure. One of those are these booties. So cute and still in very good condition. For Macro Mondays the theme is 'treasured'. Happy Macro Mondays/ HMM
