Down my track...
I went down to feed the birdies at The Pixies, yesterday - just to the left of shot and down a wee hill. I turned the car and was met by this wonderful sight! I thought the light in the new spring green leaves looked lovely in the sunshine.
The big, scattered boulders in the forefront are the remains of an ancient dry-stane dyke (wall) surrounding the old castle. There’s only part of the tower and some arches left of this ruin. If you look closely, you’ll see there is a stile over the sheep fence, in the background. This is the only safe access to the old ruin, now.
Only sheep, and, later in the year, some cows, will wander here. Sometimes, visitors from as far-flung as USA come to see their old ancestral pile...and they have to cross this beautiful green to get to the stile and across a very narrow wooded path on the top of the very steep riverbank. Not very often. And definitely not now...

Suddenly, I am finding Green Herons everywhere I turn. I'll try to choose shots wisely, but this is such an entertaining bird.

I finally got out for a shooting day yesterday. It was cold and windy, but so refreshing! I went to Garry Point Park - never been there before. I'm not sure what these poles in the water are for - Googled it but couldn't find anything. It was cloudy when we got there, but very quickly the sun came out and it got very bright. I tried several long exposures but couldn't even see the LCD screen on my camera, so had no idea if any of them turned out till I got home, and this was the only one that did. I thought I would try something different with it. I don't normally do black and white, and I have a colour version too, but this one speaks to me.
I used my 10 stop and 6 stop Breakthrough Photography ND filters (for a total of 16 stops) on this image.
Found one more image of the puffin. Think t could be the last for awhile. The nesting area where the puffins were was so beautiful and I found if very difficult to stop shooting. You know that feeling " Just one more " lol !!!
Wishing you a wonderful and blessed day !

“The future lies before you, like paths of pure white snow. Be careful how you tread it, for every step will show.” ~ Author Unknown
Sticking with the "artsy" theme...here's another from our last winter trip to Yellowstone. Initially blurred everything but the coyote, and it didn't look quite right, so I stuck with blurring the background to make the coyote stand out. Can you tell I'm craving some snow??? Hoping for a White Christmas :-) Have a great Tuesday....and thanks for all your visits and comments!!!!

One of the often seen sights along the shoreline is the beautiful Ruddy Turnstone. They ar such fun to watch as the busily go about getting their food for the day !! I have not been out shooting since we moved except for a couple of hours one day so I am still diving into unedited files for the past. I must say it has been a great journey filled with many awesome memories.
Wishing you a lovely and blessed evening !!

An easy shot to compose with the boardwalk leading up and around the bend to the sky and dunes beyond, the sky was a great help too.

This sand treader, a few feet away from the pure black treader in my previous post, was checking him out. This individual has recently molted, and his new chitinous armor would accumulate pigment until he was pure black again.
The treaders leave conspicuous trails in the sand--follow the tracks to either a treader or a hole in the sand.
