Having grown up in eastern PA and eating a TON of pasties over the years, I was amazed to see them in Traverse City, Michigan! Including a quick stop to Cousin Jenny's to check out their version. Definitely a bit different than the pasties I was used to eating but REALLY tasty!!
Best when viewed large. Day 3 driving from Chattanooga TN to Eugene OR. We ventured north from Denver towards Laramie and played tag with scattered thunderstorms all afternoon.
We got lost on our way to the summit...
If we were earlier, we could've caught some sun shinin'.
Nonetheless, reaching the Dulang-dulang summit got me all fired up.
Doing the Dulang to Kitanglad traverse...
Bring:
- A 20m rope
- Couple of carabs
- 2L water per person
It is an exciting descent. I took note of 3 challenging (loose) 90° walls. Could be dang cold. Bring a lightweight, mid-torso poncho. Prepare for an emergency camp and lot's a rain. The trail is not well marked. Pretty much because only one mountaineering group per year does this adventure. This is the statistics we've got from our guide, Mr. Raul.

Spent a couple of days with my daughters in Traverse City and about. This was coming down Peninsula Drive on the west side of Old Mission Peninsula.
